My little girl was 18 weeks old yesterday. She currently goes to sleep at around 9pm. However, I want to try and get this earlier as I believe it should be around 7pm for a 4-month old. She sleeps all through the night and goes around 11/12 hours. She is currently on 5 feeds a day around 6oz. She wakes at around 8/9am and because she goes between 3/4 hours for a feed I’m struggling to bring her bedtime earlier to ensure she has her 5 bottles a day. Has anyone got any suggestions?
I have just upped her bottles to 7oz and trying to give her 4 of them a day as she has started to have porridge in the mornings before her bottle now.

Generally it’s 12 hours night time and 12 hours daytime, so if you want her to go to bed around 7pm you need to wake her around 7am.
Also, milk should always come before solids so she should be having her morning bottle and then porridge afterwards otherwise the solids are potentially replacing the milk which is more important at her age.
I’ve researched giving her porridge and says before, she either has this with her normal milk or kettle water so not really replacing her milk especially if I’m giving it with her usual milk and she’s still getting the right amount of liquid/milk in her as I track her bottles daily.
I’ve tried doing the earlier wakes up, but where she’s tired she hardly drinks her milk and then we’re out of routine for the rest of the day as she will wait until the time she usually has her second bottle around 11/12 🙄

When I say replacing I mean her tummy will be too full from solids to want the bottle, unless she has an entire 7oz of milk in her porridge?
She will be tired for a little while of being woken at 7am but once she gets in the routine it will become normal. It’s unlikely you’ll get a 7pm bedtime with a 9am wake up.

I brought my little ones bedtime earlier by doing it in 15 min increments over a week or two so each day try and put down 15 mins earlier. My LO was the same at that age though it wasn’t until later I started to try and bring it back weve very much been lead by her. She’s slept 12-13 hours a night from about 16 weeks so I’m sure she will readjust the busier she gets too xx
