Positive induction stories!!

I got induced at 37 weeks (not my choice) due to him being ‘small’ everything went absolutely fine and he was born at 6lbs 6oz!

Honestly this isn’t what you want to hear but I will never be induced again if I could have I would have let my daughter do her own thing and come when she was ready being induced stressed my daughter out and ended up being a emergency c section for her not to be breathing when they got her out and she needed oxygen

I had to be induced at 41w2d and I can say my experience wasn't bad, birth went well, it all depends on you and baby how everything flows my little girl was stubborn and did not want to come out so being induced was best for us.

I’d personally wait. Due dates are all estimates that’s why they say it’s safe to go to 42 weeks, you could be plus or minus two weeks of due date x

I didn’t want to be induced either. Unfortunately my water broke at 39 weeks with no signs so I had to be induced. I have no complaints everything was amazing. Only thing i’d change was to go completely natural and not get IV meds. They only made me high and didnt help my pain.

Sorry no positivity here I was induced and never again. ! I was in hospital 3 nights before baby came with no rest and was exhausted by time baby arrived .

I think unless there is a medical reason to be induced, let baby come when they’re ready

Your experience will never be the same as anyone else’s, you may have a great experience, you may have a more difficult one it’s sooooo hard to know! If there’s no medical reason then I’d wait atleast a bit longer as you’re literally only at the due date tomorrow but go with your gut and see what happens x

I was booked into be induced on a Saturday, all was going well but ended up being 18hours in Labour with no development, not being able to move or walk around wasn’t great but ended up with a C-section in the end as was exhausted and spent 4 days in hostipal, next time will defo let nature take its course!

I stand by waiting unless there's a medical reason to do so, I was emergently induced at 36 weeks and from the start of induction to deliver it was 36 hours and to be honest I started having strong contractions very close together very quickly after being induced and it doesn't mean any sort of progression is happening. In the first 24 hours I had only dilated one centimeter. I wanted to deliver unmedicated and by the time I was 2 cm dilated I was exhausted and changed my plan to use an epidural. This did allow my daughter to arrive safely however if I could choose to do differently next time I would.

I was induced after my water broke and labour didn't start. I had a great experience because I was already 1cm dilated I didn't need to mess around with the pessary etc - started the drip and my LO arrived 7 hours later 🥰

I will never be induced again. Awful experience for me.

Personally I would wait. I had an induction and whilst it wasn’t bad, it meant that I lost a lot of choices about how I wanted to labour. Unless there’s a medical reason to be particularly concerned, your due date is pretty early to be considering induction.

Listen to your body and your baby. Do you think you need to be induced or will baby come when they are ready? I read it’s not harmful to the baby if you wait for up to 42 weeks. Go with your instinct

I was induced due to my high blood pressure and in my case I had no choice. Obviously my birth didn’t go as I planned it and I didn’t have a nice experience. If you have the choice, just let it happen all naturally - when the baby and you are ready.

I've been told this might be the case for me. I'm 31 weeks now and baby is measuring small

Mine went wonderful - went to the hospital at 9AM 3/15/24 and had babygirl 9:14AM 3/16/24 🥰 Very rough process waiting as I had to take 3 cervix softening vaginal pills but once that 3rd one was in - contractions were on 😅 Took some loopy drugs to make it to 5CM and then got the epidural! Epidural help knock me out until I had back and vaginal pressure at 4AM and I was 9CM and ended up pushing at 7AM! Pushing was very hard process as a FTM as I didn't exactly know how to push , and I was throwing up throughout the process , but again , I didnt know exactly how to push - they told me to push through the bumhole😅 took 2 hours but that isn't that bad , just exhausting!

But overall , I had a really good labor and delivery and only took 24 hours! I do not regret my decision to be induced as I had her on my due date 🥰🥰🥰

I got induced at 38 weeks due to baby’s growth reducing and had a very positive experience, didn’t even need any pain relief!

The decision is down to you ultimately, not your families. Do what you feel is right for you and your baby

I feel like sometimes they just want to keep an eye on things but it’s totally optional, my one went really good but it’s always by our decision🫶🏼

I was induced at 40+ 3. Needed the folley balloon followed by pitocin. Start to finish was 15 hours. Didn’t get any pain relief. I’m pregnant again now and I’d do it the same way happily if needed

I was induced at 39 weeks by choice but on day of induction turned medically necessary due to blood pressure. It was the best option for me and I don’t regret it. I was on weekly scans to check the placenta’s function. I felt like we were sitting and waiting for something to go wrong. I wanted him out while we were both still healthy, that and he was already measuring 9.75 lbs. I was so scared of a big baby and getting stuck (like my husband did).
Overall it wasn’t a horrible experience,
I’d do it again. It was VERY slow going. I was there 35 hrs before I started pushing. The nurses did one intervention at a time and helped me move to get baby to move down and me dilate. Pitocin is no joke. The contractions were half as bad when the turned it off.
Ended in c-section but because of baby’s size. After 2 hrs pushing he wasn’t getting any closer to coming out. Stayed at station 0 (10+lbs).

I’ve personally always been in the camp of letting nature do its thing unless there’s a medical reason for induction - I was induced due to late term placental insufficiency, ended in c-section which wasn’t a total surprise.

I got induced at 40weeks+4 days because baby was getting bigger and I wanted a vaginal birth (if he was any bigger I would’ve tore or would’ve needed a c section). Once I got induced, I gave birth within 12 hours. It was honestly a very positive experience for me.

I was induced, and it was wonderful. Wouldn’t have changed one thing about it ❤️

Awful experience I had but everyone’s is different but I would deffo say if you don’t need it then let it all happen naturally 🫶🏼

Unless there's a medical reason, you should be fine waiting until you're 41 weeks. You could try a membrane sweep. That helped my sister more naturally go into labor. I know the placenta can start to calcify so I would personally start doing some natural induction methods at 40 weeks and consider induction at 41

My sister loved her induction and that they could plan better so there are pros and cons either way
