Been struggling with day naps through the sleep regression. 4 month old wont go down without a fight so I often take him out for a walk. He still wakes around 4 times a night. I'm wondering if I'm doing naps wrong and encouraging him to sleep more. He's really cranky and cries and can't go more than an hour and a half in the day. When I walk I'm he often naps around 4/5 hours a day. Am I encouraging too much sleep? I'm worried if he doesn't get the day sleep in he will be even grumpier. Thank you 😊

That does sound like a lot for his age but all babies are different my app says 3.5 hour for 19 weeks but I’m struggling to get a total of 1.5-2 hours and 4 wake ups in the night is a good night for us, this sleep regression hits hard! I would try to go 2 hours between naps they will always get grouchy around 1-1.5 hours of waking he might be hard to get to sleep because he’s not actually tired yet x

3.5-5 hours is needed at the mo :)

Depends on every baby. Mine sleeps 12h at night (dream feeds and we cosleep) and he still sleep 6h during the day sometimes more.
1h wake window, sometimes 1h30 but it gets harder to get him to fall asleep. And sometimes he’s an absolute grump after 30minutes 😂
Follow wake windows, get them to drift off before they get too tired to fight it, whatever way you can get them to is just fine. You need sanity and he needs sleep 🤗
All babies are so different, learn his cues is i think the best advice.
My 15 week old is still mainly one hour wake window, once he starts putting a fight or waking up after 30/45minutes is probably when I’ll stretch a little longer.
