Yeah girl, they’re just doing an in depth ultrasound. They’re just making sure your baby has all ten fingers and toes, a heart, 2 lungs, etc. They’re really just making sure everything is growing normally and if anything IS abnormal, they’ll refer you out. It’s really nothing to worry about babe. Just get to see all of your baby. Even their gender if you want.

Is that the 20-week scan?
Mine was an hour long, had juice, and a short walk to get baby to flip for spine and kidneys. Otherwise, it's just a long opportunity to see baby. I didn't find out the gender so at the end, she turned off the screen and tried to look, but baby crossed their legs so they didn't bother with it.

I have mine tomorrow morning I can let you know. I hope all goes well for you momma

I think it is🤔 with my first baby that’s all it was, and tomorrow is my anatomy scan and my 20 week mark, but essentially what you said; a long look at baby. Also did they print out any pics at yours? Cause I didn’t get any at my last appointment and the only ones i have are from 8 weeks :(

No, but she offered a CD or just pull it up on the screen and take pictures/video with my phone

They will be checking all body parts are there and progressing. Spine, heart, liver, bladder, legs, arms, fingers etc..

Thank you ladies.

I just had a detailed scan with MFM, it was a little bit different than my general Anatomy scan that I had a few weeks ago around 20 weeks. They do a more detailed ultrasound at the clinic I was at I was able to see the entire ultrasound on the screen as well as I could see the blood flow of certain organs in color detail with them explaining to me and my husband the input and output. As well as looking at the blood vessels of mine that go into the placenta. This is also done in the presence of a doctor who is going through it with you step by step and explaining it in the entire way. Well most Anatomy scans with a sonographer they're talking to you but they're not really telling you anything as that information supposed to come from the doctor.

Also it can vary Regarding why you're seeing MFM what their specifically looking at. For me I suffer from hypertension I have gestational diabetes and I had a partial placental abruption with my last pregnancy so they were wanting to make sure everything is looking okay right now in a more detailed ultrasound then I'd get to see at any other Clinic

Just a long ass ultrasound
