Smiling

Is anyone else still waiting on smiles?
My LB was born 29/01 at 28+2 and will be 8 weeks on Monday, but he still isn’t smiling… We all engage with him while he’s awake and encourage him to smile (face tickling etc.) but nada…..
He’ll occasionally look like he smiles at nothing and obviously still has gassy smiles but nothing that could be deemed a proper engaged smile. He pulls a lot of different faces and moves his face around at you but most of the time he’lll just sit and stare at you.

Just wondering what everyone else experience has been and and what stage your baby started smiling?
Health Visitor said to remember he was 2 weeks early and factor that in and that I should get more in the next 7-10 days maybe…..

Video is the closest I think we’ve got as he did actually look at me!

My best friends little one was born at 38+1 and his first smile was at 9 weeks, now he doesn’t stop smiling!

My little girl is 3 days younger than your baby but still no smiles here either. Same as you, she looks like she’s about to smile at times and has gassy smiles but no proper ones. My little boy was smiling at 6 weeks and we haven’t done anything different! So just guess all babies are different! Xxx

I would say that's a smile! Baby smiles usually don't really look like smiles 😂 I think you notice it in the eyes first 😊

That’s definitely a smile, like Brooke said it’s in the eyes!
Sometimes my little boy couldn’t care less and stares past me when I try to make him smile or engage and then other times he’s really smiley but it’s not consistent. He’s 11 weeks x

My LO was 3 weeks early born 29/12 and he only started properly smiling maybe a week ago. Hes exactly 12 weeks today 😊 now he smiles lot but is actually a very serious wee boy 😂 get comments all the time at how serious he is (his dads the same) lol

My little girl was born 38+4 and we had a few smiles since 7 weeks but they tended to coincide with when she was being fussy/gassy so I was never confident they were true smiles. But then at 2 months exactly (so just after 8 weeks) she gave me the biggest beam 🥹 and now will smile a lot more

My LG was born at 37 weeks on 28/1 and she’s just started smiling in the last few days! Takes a lot of me talking absolute nonsense and 🤣 I think that’s definitely a little smile in your video 🥰

My baby girl is 9 weeks and she sometimes tries to smile but very occasional and not fully yet! Don’t worry it will come I’m sure ♥️

My LB will be 3m next week. This video is from the time he was almost 10 weeks😀❤️
Your LB is adorable. Give him some time as if I understood correctly technically he shoud be born in like 3 weeks. My LB was born 38+1 and he started smiling round about week 7 or so

I would call that a smile. You will probably find that they start coming thick and fast now. Just make sure you have a big happy reaction when he does little smile, even accidental ones….

Anxiety with the bump.

I’m 36 weeks pregnant and I’ve suddenly developed a massive anxiety around anyone standing behind me. My husband is annoying me so much because even though I’ve told him how it makes me feel, he’s continued doing stuff in our kitchen (that is tiny anyway) and sliding past me to grab things. I know the baby is safe even if I were to bump the bump a little but even the thought of it is still making extremely anxious. How do I cope with this feeling and is anyone else going through the same sort of thing?

Breathless and feeling like I need to be sitting constantly!

Has anyone else been feeling this way as they're getting closer to their due date?

I attempted to change our bedding this evening and had to call my husband for back up as I literally felt like my lungs were going to explode just trying to reach over to put the sheet on.

I'm huffing and puffing just getting my toddler into his pjs, and I was sat down! Like what is going on 😮‍💨🥲

Everything has been check ie bloods etc so I think it's just general pregnancy as I'm now 38 weeks. My bump feels like it weighs about 100lbs 😭

Friends wedding abroad

Hi all. I know this is FTM... But really need advice. I am currently pregnant with baby #2. Only 8 weeks. I didn't want to tell anyone yet, my partner and boss knows (needed for risk assessment reasons annoyingly). My friend is getting married in a remote part of Spain in ~3 months. I've already had a few minor complications, pain, bleeding, vanishing twin... I got preeclampsia last pregnancy and a terrible birth.
I am pretty sure I don't feel comfortable flying and then travelling out to a remote part of Spain during pregnancy. It will just be me and my toddler. I know it's overcautious but I just don't feel comfortable. I'm not even sure if I am going to be classified as high risk pregnancy or not.
How do I handle this? I need to tell her ASAP, but I didn't really want to tell anyone yet as doc told me miscarriage risk is a bit increased with vanishing twin. Any ideas?

When to prepare?

I’m 34w1d with my second baby. Today at my midwife appointment she said baby is 2/5 engaged, I’ve packed my hospital bags but unsure when to start building baby’s crib. Installing car seat ect. When is everyone else doing these things?

Anxious/depressed

My first pregnancy symptom was my anxiety out of nowhere. I feel like I'm a bundle of nerves and just so scared of everything. Is anyone else feeling similar? How are you managing? Are we contributing it to hormones?
