Hey, my little one is just over two weeks and appears to enjoy sucking as a comfort so planning to introduce a dummy on advice from the midwife. I am still going to be monitoring him for signs of hunger cues and if he hasn't spat him dummy out after three hours I'll take it out to continue offering him feeds just to be sure that he's not missing out due to having the dummy in. I've just sterilised this dummy we have which I'm pretty certain is for use from newborn age. It's the first start mam dummy that came with the first start mam bottle from the boots parenting app (just for context) I put the dummy in and he seems to have taken it well and is sucking on it fine but it just looks massive on him because he's quite small anyway so looking for advice that it's fine despite looking quite big on him.

Your baby will let you know when he’s hungry regardless if he is sucking on his dummy or not so don’t worry about him missing any feeds😊 and the dummy looks absolutely fine but if you are worried that it’s too big you can try getting the MAM comfort soother dummy from 0-3 months which are a bit smaller x

He will let you know when he’s hungry don’t worry, my little girl has always had MAM dummies and they have been great. Looks fine to me.

Yes! My baby had used mams since birth and loves them! She spits them out very aggressively when she is hungry 😂

I used the exact same one, they do look huge to start x

I used the same one initially, very big and touching her nose so then I got the Nuk ones which are shaped a bit differently and they are working fine
