Lactation cookies, tea…..

Do these kinds of things actually help increase milk supply or is it all in our heads? I’m all for something if it makes us feel like we are trying all we can to make breastfeeding work- but is it worth the money?

No, it’s supply and demand! Pump/feed/hand express

I found that making my own cookies and brownies and using flax seed and brewers yeast works better for me than the store bought 🤷🏻‍♀️

Same boat as Christina, I make these oat balls with brewers yeast and flax seed and those seem to help a lot more

Mother’s milk tea can’t hurt - not sure if it helped me increase or not but I liked the taste with some honey! WATER is your #1 friend! And pump every two hrs

I was advised not to take fenugreek. I’m not doing it right this time around… I really need to make those cookies like I did last time (2012… I’m tired now)!

protein, oats, and a consistent schedule of every 2 hours doubled my milk supply and i barely hydrate myself! i think the big thing though was a consistent pumping schedule

Unfortunately I think all the extras are really a per person thing. I see zero improvement with this tea, or making the cookies with brewers yeast and all that

i also make lactation oat balls with brewers yeast! so good! also agree with Remy, fenugreek either increases supply for some or completely tanks it, i wouldn’t want to risk that personally

I tried the tea, doesn’t really help. I used to have a bowl of oatmeal with some cinnamon and sugar and noticed that bumped up my supply some. I want to try making cookies with brewers yeast since I heard that’s good

The tea helped me and I still take it. My baby is 2 months old

i’ve been drinking the tea and oatmeal for about a week now. i notice a better supply, but could also be a placebo😂😂

A high protein diet and lots of water help produce more. Tried the teas and special pills and didn't notice a difference🙃 the only time my milk increased whenever the baby was eating more. Morning hormones help produce more, too, so I get the most out of a pumping session in the morning.

Leaky nappy help

What nappies are you using to stop leaks?? We use pampers ultra dry size 5, and for the past few nights he has lashed through and we’ve had to completely change him during the night. Last night he leashed through twice!! He sleeps on his front and stays leaks through at the top of his leg where the tabs connect. Didn’t know whether to size up, he has a bit of a belly on him but he’s smack in middle of weight guidance so shouldn’t need too

4 month bed time

What time do you put your babies to bed?
What time do you start your 'routine?'
My LO currently goes to bed around 10.30pm, and I know i need to start bringing it forward. Everytime ive tried, it takes longer for my LO to settle.
We are exclusively breastfeeding. Any advice Mamas?

New born

Finally had my baby girl via C-section on the 18th, everything has been so far. But I’ve noticed she’s very fussy and cries a lot. I’ve been trying to exclusively breastfeed. The lactation consultant at the hospital said I did look like I’m making enough milk for her. She was latching on good at the hospital and now here at home, she doesn’t seem to want to latch at all. She’s been crying a lot and very fussy. I’m just wondering is she’s colic or like maybe she just doesn’t want the breast anymore?

5.30am wakeups 😫😴

My 15 week old has started waking up about 5.30am and is really hard to settle back down - it’s like he thinks it’s time to wake up for the day. He used to go to bed at 9pm and was up at 8am but now he goes to bed between 7.30-8pm as he’s knackered by then but waking up at 5.30am😴. Any advice to get him to sleep a little longer in the morning?! Even an extra hour would be lovely 🤣
