2nd centile baby!

32+3 days today and had a growth scan. Baby is tiny! Measuring on the 2nd centile! Weekly check ups in place now. Been advised I will be induced at 37 weeks in not earlier… guess I need to get a move on now and pack those hospital bags as they said things can change at any of the weekly check up! Feeling nerves, scared, excited all in one! Come on little baby put some weight on!

Baby might surprise you and come out bigger than they think.
Its happened to 2 friends who were induced and birthed bigger than expected babies.

As long as pumpkin is healthy thats all that matter then baby can pack the lbs on once there here too x

We had a 0.3 centile baby at 36 weeks. She was completely fine just skinny 😅 She's still v thin now (between 3rd and 5th weight wise) but completely normal size otherwise (50th), extremely active, cheerful and healthy.

The weekly scans were so stressful, as was people around me telling me that she'd either be a normal size or big baby / you can't trust scans etc. (I don't know what they were trying to achieve!)

The things that did help: arranging to go for lunch/dinner out after the scans - being out of the house for that bit longer to discuss everything and destress in an environment that wasn't home made a big difference to how home felt. When we were at the restaurant we could vent and stress, when we left we left it all behind at the restaurant and continued trying to stay positive 😅

Taking creatine supplements - these basically buy your baby more time without oxygen. Our girl came out angry and screaming, and in great condition and I still credit the creatine for giving her that extra energy.

Also, if you need steroid injections - they absolutely kill 🙈 don't plan anything after those but time to rest and relax 😬 as I had a c-section, these were actually the most painful part of the whole experience. The spinal was a walk in the park by comparison and the healing pains were nothing 😅

thank you for the reassurance!
Don’t suppose you know if your friends were induced before 37 weeks?x

thank so much Holly!

I had those remarks from some family members yesterday … those scans are normally wrong blah blah blah, made me quite annoyed, was just like give me some support!

Going for lunch is a great idea! Think I will definitely mention that to my partner.

Will look in to creatine, anything to help this little baby grow! X

Hospital bag (UK)

What did everyone pack for their section? I'm staying in for 3 days due to mental health, not really sure what I'll need to bring, feeling very nervous. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

Pregnancy after c section

What time scale did everyone get pregnant again after a c section?
I know the doc said they recommend eating at least a year to 18 months but it took 4 years to get pregnant the first time after being told we could not conceive naturally so not wanting to stop it happening knowing it could take a very long time again but also worried.

Labour

Think im a bit confused really, i went into traige as was having contractions eveey 3-5mins. Since being here im now having them every 2-3mins which was confirmed with the machine and i think the toco was 90-100 and they feel painful and my lower back is in loads of pain but apparently im only just over 2cm dilated maybe, she has said i can stay here for a bit longer to see if things progress as had a previous quick birth as well but i dont understand why the pains are coming this quick if im only 2cm dilated and feel a bit deflated from it also.

I had a sweep this morning also.

C section trauma ?

Is it a thing to be traumatised by a c section delivery? I’m 4 weeks pp after having an emergency c section. I won’t go into the ins and outs to what got me there 😂
Nothing went wrong in the surgery at all, it was just incredibly intense, overwhelming and scary, but luckily my baby was delivered safe!
However I’m finding my birth experience quite difficult to even think about and when I do, I feel a horrid gut wrenching feeling, my heart aches and I just uncontrollably cry! My body feels really alien to me, like it’s not my own and I just feel really let down.
