I was induced yesterday evening, if my waters don’t go by 1730, they want to manually break them. Anyone who has had this done, is it painful? What can I expect?

I personally didn't find it painful, just uncomfortable but I guess each experience is different, it's almost like just having a large water balloon pop inside you, however the contractions normally ramp straight up following on from waters being broken, that's where the gas and air was whipped out, any questions just message me Hun xx

i had my waters broke with my boy , honestly didn’t feel it was too busy with everything else going on and the adrenaline 🤷♀️x

It's not comfortable, but I didn't find it painful.
You will be fine, good luck xx

I won’t lie it’s really really uncomfortable. And yes it is painful for a second or two. But I don’t want to scare you because it’s really not long! But so worth it. It’ll get things going, I’d absolutely request pain relief, I did it on gas and air and I was just so confused tbh, i felt it but it didn’t bother me if that makes sense!

Personally I found it very painful! I had the first pessary of my induction on the Monday and had my waters broken on the Thursday morning, so it may have been because of the length of time I was being induced or because I was only 2cm when they did it 🤷♀️ I wasn’t offered any pain relief for it, I didn’t even think about it!
Appreciate the honesty 🙌🏽
just wanted to have half an idea of what to expect, if needed. I’ll be asking for the pain relief and hopefully my contractions become a lot closer together and get to meet my little one 😍

I had an epidural before and hence didn’t feel anything. x

It’s not comfortable but not the worst pain in the world. If you’re worried ask for some pain killers ☺️

I didn’t feel too bad having mine. It was no worse than having the inspections. I really liked the release of the water and relief of being much lighter.

It wasn’t painful at all for me the least painful part of it all to be honest

I found it really painful but it’s because 4 different health professionals had a go and struggled to break them. I had blood all over my legs and feet 🫠 I realise this isn’t the norm though, I had them broken in my first pregnancy and I didn’t feel a thing
