My son is going on 8 months old and still wakes up every 3 hours at night. I want to say it’s the mattress in the crib but I’m not too sure. If he takes a nap in got crib it’s a 30 minute nap if I get lucky but if I lay him in my bed it’s like a 2-3 hour nap. I’ve also noticed that when he wakes up in the middle of the night and I move him to my bed he goes back to sleep instantly but won’t do that if I leave him in his crib. I’m open to any advice or suggestions please!!! The picture is so it doesn’t get lost, I know it’s not safe I had just got out of bed.

He’s probably in his 8 month sleep regression xx

yeah but he’s always done this. Even when it wasn’t a sleep regression lol.

They sleep better in our bed because of the smell, if you’re breast feeding try put some of your milk on the sheets or wearing the sheets for a bit? X

Plus seperstion anxiety peaks at this age x

It’s less likely to be the mattress and more likely that he sleeps better when closer to you

I thought that but also that mattress was used when we got it

and his crib is right at the end of my bed too

Waking every 3 hours at night is perfectly normal at that age! Most babies sleep better when they sleep with a caregiver whether that’s contact napping or cosleeping following the safe sleep 7. That doesn’t mean you have to do that, but many people do to get more sleep.

Would there be room for you to put the crib at the side of your bed? I took the side off the crib and tied it too my bed to make a side car, then we effectively coslept but in our own spaces!
But also, just to reassure you that this is perfectly normal behaviour. It's hard, absolutely, at that age my baby was waking 7/8+ times a night. Now he's 2.5 and is still waking generally 2/3 times. It will improve though. Just got to find ways to get through it.

My son didn't sleep the whole night until he hit a yr old. And my son started sleeping with a pillow around that time. We can lift his head and roll over. Also baby einstein on youtube help

I am kind of in almost similar situation and I say almost because the only part different is that at 10 mo my girl sleeps through the night if sleeping on the bed with me but wakes up many times or does not sleep at all if I put her in the crib which is just next to bed! So no suggestions but wanted to let you know to assure you that you are not alone :). X

Wake windows to prevent over tiredness. . Google for his age. . Is your sleep routine the same every night? Is he drinking more milk in the day than at night? If he drinks more at night try feeding more in the day

if it’s a used mattress you should probably replace it anyway as used mattresses are a SIDS risk, but it wouldn’t surprise me if it doesn’t improve his sleep. There’s a big difference between a baby being at the foot of your bed and being in bed with you. There’s only one way to find out though! 😊 Hope you get it sorted
