I thought sleeping through the night meant they have a bottle/ feed 1-2 times a night but go straight back to bed. Reading through these groups has made me realise that sleeping through the night actually means not waking up. What the hell. Any tips of how to get our almost 6 month old baby girl to not wake up for middle of the night feeds? Her routine at the moment is bath, moisturise massage, little play while we get a bottle ready, bottle then I read her a story while she lies in her cot with her dummy and bunny. She normally sleeps from 9pm-9am but will wake up 2 times.

2 wake ups at 6 months is GREAT! Some babies take longer to figure out the no night feeds thing. If it's working for you, keep doing what you're doing

Babies a.designed to wake until 2 years of age, babies are also designed to wake up as it stops SIDs, my 17m old Still wakes in the night for feeds xx

I would take 1-2 feeds tbh. My baby went from sleeping 8-10 hours to refuses to eat much during the day as he’s too distracted (EBF) then wakes every hour at night to make up for it 🙃
Babies are biologically programmed to wake overnight, it’s more common to wake than not despite what peanut would have you believe. People tend to talk more about their babies that sleep through the night than those who don’t & like in my case just because their baby sleeps through now doesn’t mean that’ll be the case forever x

Night waking is very normal especially under a year old. Before a year we shouldn't be attempting to drop any night feeds. If they sleep through themselves that's fine, but if they wake up then they need feeding
