Is it true waters breaking has a distinct smell?

What did it smell like when your waters broke? I’ve heard that it smells quite sweet but struggle to believe this 🤣

Don't think mine smelt at all. Just felt like I'd wet myself, didn't realise it was waters, good job I was walking into a routine midwife appointment at the time 😳

I thought it was supposed to be odourless?

When my water broke it didn’t have any smell

Yes! When my water broke it had a weird sweet smell. People describe it as the smell of almonds.

My doctor said it has its own unique smell that you’ll know it is your water breaking versus urine smell. But only 20% of woman actually have their water break when time comes.

My midwife told me the other day that it smells like seaman - very rich protein smell. X

Mine smelt like antiseptic, could use it to clean the kitchen 😂 I didn’t notice to start off with as I was focused on so many other things.. labour came on very quickly after waters broke 😂 it wasn’t until I opened my suitcase when I got home and was hit with the whiff, then I smelt my clothes that I was wearing as it was trickling down and it was like they’d been dipped in bleach 🫣

It's supposed to smell sweet. Neither of mine did. Didn't smell like anything. Big pop and a massive gush with the first, all came at once. And none stop with my second, went in my sleep so I didn't feel it but just wouldn't stop, honestly couldn't believe how much liquid there was, wouldn't stop coming out for like 3 hours!!

Day out after c section

Hey,
I had an emergency c section 1 week ago I obviously don't want a day out right now but I have things booked for the Easter holidays so in 2 weeks. I was just wondering if I will be overdoing it if I have a day out then or will I be ok? I would still take it as easy as I could. When did everyone feel good enough to go out?

Period like cramps

Hi
I’m currently 33 weeks pregnant and I keep getting period like cramps I thought these were Brixton hicks but I’ve heard they only last 30 seconds ish as this can go on for a good time frame then go away and come back, they aren’t bad enough where I can’t do basic things they just feel like I’m about to get my period I’m jus wondering how normal this is? Baby is still very actively kicking xx

C section or natural?

I am a control freak and thinking c section is the least stressful route for me and baby… less complications during labour etc. whilst acknowledging recovering can be hard.
If it could be guaranteed no tearing or complications then I would opt for natural and kind of want to experience the feeling.
Then again could plan and go either way 😂 arghh!
Anyone else in this predicament?

Midwife check

Can someone remind me when the midwife visits you at home? Is it the day after you’re discharged? And is that the same on the weekend or do they not visit then? Thanks!

Anyone else’s owlet pi##ing them off ?!?! It goes off 5/6 a night saying it can’t get a reading and needs a snug fit. My baby is 8 months old so moves a lot. It is driving me insane and I keep end up taking it off!!
