Induction??

Hey all…recently my OB and maternal fetal med doctor have been talking about inducing me instead of letting me go into labor naturally around 38-39 weeks (I’m only 24w2d). I’m struggling with this because I want to go into labor naturally and I have been reading up on inductions and there are so many risks! I honestly don’t know what to do…I’m hoping some of y’all have some pointers or insight. ❤️🙏🏼

Are there reasons why they want to induce you early?
It’s possible to go into labor naturally by that point in time as well.

they say my baby is on the heavier side and that’s why they want to induce. And that there’s no reason to keep her in the womb as it will no longer be beneficial. But they don’t 100% know her weight either. And I’m assuming because I was heavier than people would like when I first got pregnant but they didn’t outright say that…

I would wait until you get closer to that point if you can, to see how big she actually is and if it really calls for induction. This is just a personal opinion but if I’m told I need to be induced I’m asking for a c-section. Induction doesn’t sound appealing but I haven’t done either so just going by what people have told me.

I got induced with my first and it was over in like 8hrs from when they induced me to the time she came out honestly it went pretty smooth for me, but everyone’s different

Wait and see but knowing the suggestion may be coming gives you time to learn more about it. I did end up getting induced with my son as a precaution based around blood pressure spikes but I said not before my due date. It went super well and I found it fairly relaxing all things considered.

ultrasounds can be off by up to two pounds so I’d push for not being induced…additionally if your cycles were at all irregular, you can push for a later induction date because you can then argue that you may have ovulated late that cycle

They are talking about inducing me as well if my baby doesn’t catch up in size but they induced me before with my first baby she came out healthy it was just a long labor 32 hours if you move around and use the peanut ball yours may come quicker i laid down the whole time

ACOG (the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists) does not recommend induction because of suspected fetal macrosomia (big baby).
I'd remind them of that if it comes up again.

if you are induced the chances of you having a natural birth are almost none. i would say let it be natural.

They told me that too because my first was 9lbs. I said nope thank you.
With my first they thought the whole time that she will be SMALL. Yet she turned out to be 9 lbs!
So I really don’t trust their weight measurement. Baby will come when he’s ready 🥰

Day out after c section

Hey,
I had an emergency c section 1 week ago I obviously don't want a day out right now but I have things booked for the Easter holidays so in 2 weeks. I was just wondering if I will be overdoing it if I have a day out then or will I be ok? I would still take it as easy as I could. When did everyone feel good enough to go out?

Period like cramps

Hi
I’m currently 33 weeks pregnant and I keep getting period like cramps I thought these were Brixton hicks but I’ve heard they only last 30 seconds ish as this can go on for a good time frame then go away and come back, they aren’t bad enough where I can’t do basic things they just feel like I’m about to get my period I’m jus wondering how normal this is? Baby is still very actively kicking xx

Invited to a chuckie cheese party but I don't have money and don't want to tell my daughter that's why we can't go. Does anyone know how their parties work?

I'm not sure how chuckie cheese parties are. If they give you money to play or not if you're in the party. And then I'm wondering if it's an actual birthday party or if they're just going to chuckie cheese. Some guy in my building told me a couple weeks ago that his son's birthday is today and he's thinking of doing chuckie cheese. They sent an invite but I feel so insecure not being able to afford anything. Like if they don't have food for example. Idk what to do.

Owlet

Anyone else’s owlet driving them mad?? It goes off 5/6 times night saying it can’t get a reading and needs a snug fit. My baby is 8 months old so moves a lot. It is driving me insane and I keep end up taking it off! Anyone had similar issues?

Reduced Movements

Has anyone else gone in for monitoring for reduced movements and as soon as you arrive at triage the baby starts moving and the CTG is normal? It makes me feel like I am over reacting.
