This may be stupid question but has anyone gone into labor without their water breaking?
I’m 38 weeks and some days and started having worse cramping then the Braxton hicks. Especially standing up straight.

Time them. 4 minutes apart, 1 minute long, lasting an hour. Getting stronger and closer together. Your water doesn’t always break at home :)

Most people do have contractions well before their water breaks and a lot have their water broken in the hospital to get things moving faster. It very well could be the start of labour

My water has had to be broken for both my previous kids and probably will have to be for this one, too. Time your contractions and go with that.

My water didnt break until it was time to push

Most people don’t experience their water breaking until they are in labor or even actively delivering

This is good to know for when my time comes around i am a first time mom and i am 38 weeks

i was told a lot of people’s waters don’t break until they’re literallt about to push

My water broke at 6cm

My water never broke naturally, ob broke it when I was 8.5cm at the hospital lol

Babies can be born in their amniotic sac. It's super rare but possible that the water doesn't break until after they're born!

Yes definitely! Way more common to go into labor before water breaking

Yes, that is actually ideal. You don’t want your water to break too early. In my opinion, when your water breaks earlier on it makes the contractions more intense. My water broke in early labor, and I labored for 29 hours straight, no break in contractions at all.

that makes sense. So many people were telling me their contractions weren’t so bad in the beginning. I was so confused because early on mine had me bent over and crying. My water had broken though and that seemed to be the difference. I think I would have had a much smoother labor had my water not broken so soon.

I think most people do, my mom had to get her water broken at the hospital for both me and my brother

My waters broke a minute before pushing with my first 2 they were about to break them but they spontaneously broke right before it was time to push :)
