Swaddle sleeping bag - confused about how to choose which size to get

As a first-time mum-to-be, I’m looking ahead into what we will need to buy for our little one, due mid-September. I’ve recently been looking into sleep systems (swaddle, blankets, baby sleeping bags) and after some research, I quite like the swaddle sleeping bags for newborns.

The only problem is - I’ve no idea what size we will need 🤦🏽‍♀️. The ‘newborn’ size of the Mamas & Papas one that I’ve looked at is suitable for babies who weigh between 4lb 13oz - 7lb 11oz. Which will be useless if I have a big baby.

The same one in size ‘small’ is suitable for babies between 7lbs 7oz - 13lb 4oz. Which will be too big if I have a small baby 😂.

Ideally, I don’t want to leave buying it until really close to estimated due date in case I give birth a little early and then I don’t have one for them.

Has anyone else had this problem? How have you guys approached this (or are planning to approach this)?

I’ve been having the same problem! They aren’t the cheapest things to buy either so want them to get their use of it. We’ll either be swaddling with a blanket until our little one gets big enough to use the small size (as they need to be tight anyway) or I might by the newborn size from Vinted so I’m not wasting money if it doesn’t fit x

Also bear in mind that not every baby like being swaddled! Our first baby loves to stretch out lol. We just used blankets when he was a newborn so there was no issue with sizing, then transitioned to normal sleep sacks once he could roll (as he would get a bit tangled).

With our first we initially had a blanket over him that was tucked in around the edges (check lullaby trust's guidelines on safe sleeping for how to do this) then when you feel like baby is big enough switch to a sleep sack. I would advise staying away from the ones with velcro swaddles as not every baby likes being swaddled. We used the tommee tippee sleep sacks because they're a bit more fitted at the top.
We got all of ours second hand. Check Vinted, they have loads!

Buy small and if you have a little baby then you can use a cellular blanket to swaddle them 😊

Highly recommend love to dream but they do grow out them fast when little

Ultrasound Scan and BMI

Hi everyone, really upset today. Went for my dating scan and as far as I knew from the sonographer it was difficult to get a good pic of baby today because baby didn't want to get in a good position. Read my notes afterwards and it says difficult scan due to increased BMI. I have a BMI of 39 which I'm aware is high, but I feel so sad about it and now I'm worrying how this is going to be throughout the pregnancy. Any positive info about any of you lovely people having a healthy and safe birth with a high BMI would be really appreciated right now ♥️

Dampness at 31weeks

Has anyone experienced dampness amd wet patches in underwear? Has it been your water’s slowly going or fluids leaking? If it was how long before they completely went ect?

I did think it was discharge at first. But it has no texture or odour.. just a wet patch like if you pour water 💦

How long after postpartum C-section do you guys feel heal enough to exercise? Or did my body heal wrong 💀

Hello! 2024 September 13th I had my baby and it was a planned C-section. They told me to never lift anything heavy til I heal but I had a toddler and newborn plus the household chores to do.. my boyfriend always work all day long til close to midnight anyways I reopened my C-section back then . They looked at it and said it was okay so I waited til last year 2025 September to work out.. and every time I did a simple push up or sit ups. It feels like a very sharp sting around my scar like burning and it spreads out so I just assumed I needed more time to heal and yesterday I tried again but this time it hurts badly and I couldn’t do sit up or push ups at all 😬
It feels like ima reopened again and the pains goes away 2 or 3 minutes later. The pains is like 9/10. Is that normal or did my body heal wrong? 😖
Is it something I should go in for?
