Colic breakdown

Just on the other side of a 2 hour long colic crying fit. Nothing to say here other than please somebody tell me this gets better. My nervous system is absolutely in bits. My babies must be also. Please tell me that babies with colic grow up to be happy? I’m so worried he won’t ever be able to regulate his emotions. I’m an absolute shell of the person I used to be before this. I want nothing more in the entire world than for him to be happy I would die for him. It breaks every piece of my heart not being able to help him. And please I have tried EVERYTHING! All the remedies, exercises, dairycelemination and even holistic therapies. I have no idea how to stop this or to help him.

Hi there! Your baby will be a happy and amazing human being. I was a colic baby. My mother had me (her first) at age 32, she was a new doctor at the time and she told me I was a challenge. I made her question if having a child was the right move, nothing she did (in her vast medical knowledge) nor tips or tricks from other mothers did anything. I cried for hours on end, didn’t sleep, hated the boob, you name it. She told me I nearly broke her and instead of taking full leave she had to go back to work to get some piece of normalcy after 4 months.

I am 36 now, a first time mom to the happiest baby. But I just want you to know I turned into a happy toddler. A well adjusted child, a somewhat testy teen and I like to think a successful adult.

You WILL be okay, your baby will be okay I promise. He loves you too and you are his world. He isn’t mad at you. It’s not you. It’s his little body figuring stuff out and trying to become human. You’re doing a great job and I’m proud of you. ❤️

My LO had colic too, maybe not as bad as yours, but the only thing that truly helped us was windy. Maybe, not everyone cup of tea, but it helped her and me, as I was heartbroken. Also, bonnisan. And by the way, I am sure you are doing an amazing job and at around 3-4 months, your LO will be a happy baby. ❤️

Thank you all so much and that made me cry my eyes out thank you so much. I’m forever grateful for this site and the kind and selfless women that take the time to share advice and spread kindness to those who are struggling. Today I was at breaking point but I am much better now after getting him down for a couple of naps in the baby carrier. I know on a rational level that this will get easier but I find it so hard to see light at the end of tunnel when he’s in a scream fest. It’s a visceral, physical reaction of dread, fear and despair coming straight from my nervous system. I grew up in fight or flight mode most of the time and although I’ve done a lot of inner work and healing since then, I think I still carry a lot of fear and my system is very easily triggered. I love my boy with all my heart and I cannot wait to see him happy and thriving when this awful affliction is over x

I’m taking an alternative medicine course for school and I read a lot about how Craniosacral therapy can help infants with colic! As well as ear infections and stuff. Worth looking into 😉

I’ve spent £150 on 3 cranial osteopathy sessions. When I say I’ve tried everything I mean I’ve tried everything! 😔

I was in your shoes it’s the worst ever. You are not a failure nor is it your fault.

It was the darkest time in my life feeling like I was failing as a mom and failing the new love of my life. But I wasn’t! And you aren’t either.

It will get better!!

I was breast feeding / bottle breast milk feeding and convinced it had something to do with eating or his stomach. I ordered some HIPP hydralazed formula from Europe and he was not collic anymore within a week.

Leaky nappy help

What nappies are you using to stop leaks?? We use pampers ultra dry size 5, and for the past few nights he has lashed through and we’ve had to completely change him during the night. Last night he leashed through twice!! He sleeps on his front and stays leaks through at the top of his leg where the tabs connect. Didn’t know whether to size up, he has a bit of a belly on him but he’s smack in middle of weight guidance so shouldn’t need too

New born

Finally had my baby girl via C-section on the 18th, everything has been so far. But I’ve noticed she’s very fussy and cries a lot. I’ve been trying to exclusively breastfeed. The lactation consultant at the hospital said I did look like I’m making enough milk for her. She was latching on good at the hospital and now here at home, she doesn’t seem to want to latch at all. She’s been crying a lot and very fussy. I’m just wondering is she’s colic or like maybe she just doesn’t want the breast anymore?

5.30am wakeups 😫😴

My 15 week old has started waking up about 5.30am and is really hard to settle back down - it’s like he thinks it’s time to wake up for the day. He used to go to bed at 9pm and was up at 8am but now he goes to bed between 7.30-8pm as he’s knackered by then but waking up at 5.30am😴. Any advice to get him to sleep a little longer in the morning?! Even an extra hour would be lovely 🤣
