Sleep routine

I have a 4 month old and I can’t help but keep thinking I should be having some sort of routine with him. I do in terms of bath and settling down but my little one just does not go to sleep before at least 9pm and will not settle on his own needs to be fallen asleep on me first. First time mam and feeling mega guilty for it. Any advice welcome.

Same here. She goes to sleep at 9 at the moment. How about a bath, rubbing some oil or moisturizer on baby as a little bonding massage, maybe read a book if he's still awake, then cuddles, feed, bed? If my girl is super tired I just bath, feed, bed Xx

yeah I try all these things but he just won’t go to sleep before I go to bed and won’t self settle. Think he’s just super attached haha xx

Ok, so if you want to bring the bedtime earlier then just keep with the routine but do it a little bit earlier each night and he will adjust soon enough. It's important to time it so that the last nap finishes around 2 hours before you want bedtime. This way there is enough sleep pressure for him to fall asleep at this time. Something that is also super helpful is to track his sleeping habits. If you can find out on average how long he is awake in the day before he starts his first long stretch, you can wake him up a bit earlier to get the day started to ensure an earlier bedtime. Hope this helps somewhat xx

Definitely nothing to feel guilty about my little girl sometimes doesn’t go to bed until 10/11 it depends how her feeds have been in the day and I don’t even do a bath time routine, we bath in the day. It’s what works for her so I go with it. I tried putting her down earlier at 7 before and she just knew it wasn’t time and refused to go to sleep but then at 10 did it completely fine x

Our days are pretty much same. He'll be up around 8-9, I'll change and feed him. Then we'll play a little or he'll be in bouncer for 1-2h, then nappy change, feed and sleep 1-2h. Throughout the day 3-4 naps. Last one 5-5.30 for up to 1h. When he wakes usually daddy takes him over until 7pm and I'll change him, take him up, feed and he's down for the night by 8pm, if I bath him that's usually 1-2 times a week then I'll take him up like 6.50pm. he sleeps 11-13h depends on feed from previous night.
If you'll be consistent baby will adapt the routine.
My boy is 14 weeks today and we've been having this routine for about 4 weeks now although play time gets slightly longer and naps a little shorter every week or so.

Wdy think of this for a toddler to learn word construction?

I'm open to anything else to start teaching him to read and write. He's 3!

Do men really enjoy fellatio?

Been together more than 10 years, but it's been a while since he even seemed remotely interested in me getting on my knees, or vice versa so to speak. I think it was once last year. Must be something I am doing wrong 🤔. Generally everything else in that department is great and we have two young kids with no extra support, so it's quite surprising we can't keep our hands off each other but may need to try new things. It's basically 2 positions each time with some foreplay.

Naps

How is everyone doing for naps?

Little one is 9 months old and will have 2 half hour naps and one solid 1 hour - 2 hour nap a day

Then settles for night around 9pm. Wakes for a feed around 3:30 then sleeps until 6-7

Vanilla extract

Has anyone used alcohol free vanilla in their babies formal to help them drink?
I’m 100% sure my baby refuses her bottles as she doesn’t like the taste of it!

Just anxious to try it, don’t want her to get used to it and then refuse bottles again after two weeks of using (correct me if I’m wrong but I’ve read you use it for 2 weeks max)

TIA 🙂

Pumping advise

FTM to a 2 week old! I’m breastfeeding and then giving one formula bottle last in the evening before bed. I want to start expressing milk to give me some breathing room and also allow my partner to be more involved in feeding. I’m finding the idea of introducing pumping into my day quite overwhelming though. I don’t want to take milk away from my baby by pumping if he needs it during the day when being breastfeed.

Can anyone advise how I start pumping and when to do it? Thank you!

Sex post C section

Hi ladies I’m 4 weeks 5 days postpartum and I had a C section. I’m not bleeding properly anymore just some brownish discharge stuff that starts on and off. I’d like to do the deed with my partner; is it okay to do so or shall I wait the full 6 weeks. I feel up for it but also worried because the advice is 6-8 weeks.
