Has anyone moved bubs out of a bassinet and into their own room?
At the moment I feel like bubs is physically outgrowing the bassinet, she’s nearly the length of it and I think she’s ready to sleep on her own. My partner would prefer if she stayed in our room for at least another couple months, to me I’d only agree for convenience of only having to take two steps every time she wake up in the middle of the night.
Just curious of what other people’s sleeping arrangements are, bubs is currently 11 weeks old.

Hello
Bubs is 14 weeks and he’s in his own room and cot has been for about 6 weeks no trouble or issues we have a monitor and owlet sock to monitor him.

Our Bub is 12 weeks and still in our room in the bassinet. Just makes night time wakings easier for me and my husband. We will transfer him into his own room once we get over the 4 month mark.
I also have a lot of anxiety over SIDS so this was recommended as room sharing reduces the risks. Not great for our sleep because Bub makes a lot of weird noises in his sleep that keeps us awake sometimes 🫠

We definitely kept our first (who is now almoat 4yo) and now our second in our bedroom for a year.
You could start using a cot in your room. Monitor is good but nothing like mums instincts and mums ears.
It is also recommended by Red Nose to have babies in the same room for atlearst 6 to 12months to reduce the risk of SIDS.
My newborn is noisy but now at 9 weeks I've gotten used to it and know the difference of her normal noise to the noise when she needs me.

I was recommended by the community nurse to transfer my bub at 10 weeks due to the sleep issue we are having and it made a huge difference. I have a monitor in the room as well. I was quite nervous initially but I actually sleep better now therefore am more efficient with her during daytime.

11 weeks and in a cot/co sleeping in our room. Moved into a cot about 3 weeks ago as our borrowed bassiney was crap

Recommendations are to room share for first 6 months. If there’s not enough room for a cot in your room maybe you could put a mattress in bubs room and sleep there for a while which might also help with the transition. Personally I’d be super nervous to move Bub out at 11weeks (also my bubs age) as SIDS, while very rare, most commonly occurs at 3 months…

I have quite a large bassinet, the side sleeper one. It’s so great, I reckon she will be fine in it until 6 months

Thank you everyone!
Last night I decided to just send it, we have the owlet sock and monitor. She’s been having daytime naps in for a while now and she slept from 9pm-4:30am the longest stretch she’s ever done. So I’m happy with my decision, thank you for letting me hear what everyone else is doing!
