Do you guys wake your babies up to feed? Currently bf’ing my baby and want to make sure she’s getting enough to eat. She usually wakes herself up when she’s hungry but she also sleeps for a very long time 😅 Thoughts? Should I get on a schedule?
While I’m here, how do you know if you have any supply? I never get any milk out by pumping..I use the Haaka and the Z2. My baby poops in the day but I just wanna know when I should be concerned. Any advice on supply?

You’re doing great

She will wake up and tell you when she’s hungry and as long as she’s growing then you have nothing to worry about

We woke our baby up but that was because her weight dipped and the midwives told us to. I had to wake her every three hours unless she woke up herself earlier. Talk to your midwife if it’s necessary for you.
When you say schedule do you mean getting into a routine like with bedtime? If so, I would say no. It’s too early. We started some form of routine at three months.
In terms of supply, it’ll be if baby is gaining weight. Does she seem satisfied when done feeding? That is not crying for more? Your body should produce enough for her but if there are any issues your midwife will advise. Your supply can be increased by expressing (tricks the body into thinking it needs to produce more milk). I was told a Haaka doesn’t trick the body but hand pumping / manual or electric pumps do. Professional support is there should you need it (like a lactation consultant).

Thank you Cheey ❤️❤️❤️ I love this girl so much I want the best for her

This advice is amazing! By schedule I mean start the feedings every two hours. When she feeds, she falls right asleep. No crying or anything. Would she continue to feed even if she wasn’t getting milk, or would she just stop?

I'm on baby #6 and heck no I wouldn't wake my baby to feed. As long as you breastfeed on demand, your body will regulate your milk supply and you will make enough even if it might not seem like it.

thank you!!

Thank you 🥰

Update: I decided to wait a day and time my feeds before waking her up. She’s basically on her own feeding schedule without me needing to wake her. She’s also eats for about 10 minutes per feed. I noticed my milk is now white so I think that means its coming in, which I’m really happy about because we had issues in the hospital. Thank you all for the help!!
