Anyone else?

My baby is 3 going on 4 months old. He won't sleep in his cot because being on his back he feels so much gas. I've tried every burping position and feeding position. Tried infacol gripe water etc. Nothing works. Had his tongue done recently as well as he wasn't feeding effectively and gaining weight. Just feel like a useless mum who is utterly sleep deprived and failing my baby. He just won't stop crying unless he's on boob. It's reached a point where I'm feeding him 8 hours a day. I just feel so miserable.

You're not alone! I'm in a v similar place. For us the tongue tie division didn't work so still having the same latch issues at nearly 14 weeks. The gas/digestive trouble, particularly in the second half of the night basically means we don't sleep. Before that she will sleep for max 2.5 hoyrs at a time. baby is just under second percentile and barely tracking. I've been waiting nearly 6 weeks for an appointment with the paediatrician. The feeding and weight issues have absolutely stressed me out to the max and caused so much anxiety. My husband started giving her formula at night feed to see if it'd help with her weight and/or sleep. Hasn't changed the sleep but will see at weigh in on Mon whether that has changed. Felt it was important to let you know you aren't alone because I see so many posts on here that would make you think that everyone's babies are sleeping 5+ hours at a time and I just don't think that's the reality for quite a few of us. It can make you feel like such a failure can't it.

@Charlotte sorry to hear you are going through the mill with your little one.
Just a suggestion whilst reading your comment which may make things easier for you, maybe if you haven't already, purchase a baby scale for your home. This way you can weigh weekly and see how baby is getting on.
I have a baby scale that I found on Facebook marketplace for a fiver. Its in perfect working order and great as I worry about my little ones weight as he was born below second percentile and is at 16 weeks only on the 25th percentile. In my area I have to book to get him weighed and sometimes have to wait 6 to 8 weeks so not feasible.

Hope things improve for you both x

Have you tried lying him on his front to sleep? I know it’s not recommended, so I’m not telling you to, but for my friend it was the only way and transformed their life.

Sorry to hear you are going through a hard time with LO.My daughter had so much gas/wind pain and would at times stop feeding, arch her back because she was so uncomfortable and just wanted to be upright position. We tired infacal but I actually think it made things worse. Gripe water slightly helped but not enough to stop baby crying/ get bowels moving.I felt like a failure, was feeding constantly too but I eventually took my daughter to the chiropractor and she did some gentle adjustment and tummy work. Since having weekly adjustments my daughter is now having a lot less gas and pain, able to feed better and on the way to having regular bowel movements was 7 days to now 3-4days. Helping LO to have 1-2hr sleep during day instead of 10-20min catnaps. LO is mixed fed for top ups and found goats milk formula helped reduce pain/gas too as easier to digest.I found when I ate more dairy that baby would be in more pain. Baby massage can also help.
Hang in there, you are doing good mumma 💖

My baby is 8 weeks old and will not sleep on his back. He now sleeps on his front and so much more comfortable.
I know this is not recommended but he’s so much better in himself since we’ve done this. I am awake a lot in the night, constantly checking him but I don’t mind that aslong as he’s sleeping more comfortably.
You could try a day time night see how he goes.
I feel for you and the babies ❤️❤️❤️

When do things get easier?

As we entered the 9-12 month stage, my son started crawling and pulling himself up. He also became more clingy and does not play alone, still doesnt sleep through the night, and this week has been sick (so EVERYTHING amplified). I am tired and overwhelmed. Please lie and tell me things get better. 🥺

4 month bed time

What time do you put your babies to bed?
What time do you start your 'routine?'
My LO currently goes to bed around 10.30pm, and I know i need to start bringing it forward. Everytime ive tried, it takes longer for my LO to settle.
We are exclusively breastfeeding. Any advice Mamas?

Colostrum storing?

Has anyone successfully extracted colostrum before the baby’s born? Apparently it gets produced from 16w pregnant and you can start storing it in the freezer but I’m 34w looking at my nipples and the syringes on amazon wondering how it works?? Like what did you use and did it hurt? 🥲

6 month old autistism

My 6 month old makes no eye contact with me and doesn’t respond when I call him. Can this just be a phase or personality trait as apposed to autism

Baby with chronic congestion

Hi everyone! My 1 year has been a congested baby since birth almost. She breathes through her mouth so often that it wakes her up multiple times at night and she cries and screams and then struggles to go back to sleep. She wakes up every 1-3 hours and sometimes can’t go back to sleep for 2-3 hours!!! Piriton is the only thing that seems to help her sleep mostly through the night but I can’t keep giving her that!!
Does anyone have tips as to have I can do or give her? Has anyone experienced? I have no idea when I’ll get an ENT appointment and I have no idea what he can give a 13 mo :( we are desperate for sleep so any tips are welcome!! We have tried steam inhalation, saline drops, vapour rubs and everything off the counter basically!

Combi feeding advice

Has anyone gone from EBF to combi feeding? Currently do one bottle of EBM per night and they one half formula half breast milk mixed in the day. The other times she still feeds on me. Ideally I want to feed all day via bottle and all night with breast. She’s 7 weeks and takes a bottle well, how long should I leave it before adding another bottle to her daily routine?
