Has anyone got any advice/ tips for induction? FTM and didn’t expect to be being induced today!!
I went to triage yesterday thinking i either have an infection or my waters had gone as I had been experiencing slightly green tinged discharge but they tested everything and I’m clear!! Cervix is also still slightly closed and I’m 40 weeks today!!
However I ended up spending nearly 6hrs in triage as bump’s movements were increased after previously having bouts of x4 reduced movements. The increased movements ended in her heart rate becoming sporadic and not settling even after trying everything so they’ve said the best thing to do is be induced.
Feeling nervous now as I know the end is near and I’ll soon be meeting baby girl.
Any advice would be appreciated 🥲

Hey I feel you! I’m currently being induced after seeing my midwife for my routine appt Friday I had high BP, following tests in triage they admitted me and confirmed I’m borderline preeclampsia so they spoke to me about induction. Exactly the same as you, too of cervix closed and 40 weeks. I got quite worked up about it as I wasn’t expecting it and it was all a bit overwhelming and induction was really not ideally what I’d have hoped for.
Try and stay relaxed and open minded that it may be a long process. Also ask all the questions you need, I felt so much better after speaking to the midwife and knowing in detail what the next steps were. Feel free to reach out and message me if you want - I’m only at the early stages (I’ve had the propess pessary in for 12 hours now) but I know how anxious you feel as I was in the exact same position yesterday. Sending you lots of positive vibes!
Thank you so much! The first midwife we had seen was happy with the CTG tracing and went off to find a doctor to sign it off. Then an hour later a doctor came in and said it’s best to induce! I was like ahhhh okay suddenly this is all real 😂 I was never against an induction but I think the anxiety has taken over slightly now 😩 I hope your doing okay and things get moving for you! xx

Wishing you all the luck and hopefully you will get to meet your baby very soon. I haven't personally experienced induction but I have had friends go through it with a huge mixture of experiences, just like giving birth in general so try not to worry! 🥰

I felt the exact same, I wasn’t prepared to leave my house Friday morning and just a few hours later basically be in hospital knowing it’s all about to happen! 😅
Once I got my head around it all yesterday I’ve been so much more relaxed and just taking each step at a time 😊 thank you so much.. you too! A step closer to having our little ones in our arms 🥰 x

I also got induced( still in the process) at 38 weeks due to late onset of GD. Got the pessary yesterday at 1pm. Irregular contractions started in the night around 8pm. I was very nervous before reaching the hospital but now i am kind of accepting things and taking it easy. Although couldnt sleep at all last night due to contractions.
thank you! xx
I managed to get some sleep in the end. I’m going to go for a walk later just to try and de stress beforehand xx
I hope all goes well with you and baby! I’m being induced at 2:30 so hopefully it’ll get things moving! x

Awww good 😊
You’ll be fine once things start to get moving, take some nice snacks along with you into the hospital too! I’ve been getting peckish in the nights when I’ve been awake 😂
Really hope it all goes well for you, would be nice to keep us updated on your journey 😊 xx

I was induced on Friday with first gel at 10am and had baby at lunch time on Saturday. Overall I had a very positive experience! Just go with the flow and get excited to meet baby soon!!!
