So glad I saw this as I’ve felt so alone. My little boy has complete meltdowns about going in his car seat. He screams and arches his back to stop me from putting him in it. I don’t know how to deal with it at all so I’m no help to you there but I feel your pain. Hope you get some advice that will help you xx

Out of interest do you have a car seat that turns to the door to make it easier to put the child in instead of bending your back to get your child in the seat??

It’s so tough when they decide they’re not going in! I’ve started giving a choice of what he wants to listen to in the car and we’ll have a little chat about it while he’s getting in, suggesting different videos I know he likes etc. It’s honestly made so much difference! x

Remove from the situation, distract, try again.
If it's always the same, bring a new toy or distraction with to occupy while you strap them in.
Helps for us.
so rough isn’t it!! Full on meltdown. She’s not been in the car in over a month now
yeah we do
I’ve tried but I’ll try again. As soon as she sees the car, she’ll start screaming
do you set the iPad up before putting them in?
I’ve tried so many times😭 she’s so strong willed

I just have it playing through the car speakers (so he can’t see the video). I occasionally give him my phone but I find that a bit stressful 😅 he knows whatever he’s chosen will start playing once I’m in the car too. Helping him decide what he wants to listen to distracts enough to get him in the seat!

We started by encouraging our LO to choose a toy to bring in the car and now most of the time he will climb in by himself. We still have the odd occasion where he’ll be a nightmare to get in but it’s far less than it used to be ☺️

I find a Karate chop to the tummy does the trick…
Joke obviously 😂 all though it does have to take some careful consideration not to take this as an option! Instead I go to blow raspberries on my little boy’s tummy and generally turns it into something funny rather than a fight xx
I’ll have the try that….the first suggestion!!!
