Thought my water broke

They messed up 🤣 sounds like your water broke.

I don’t think they messed up.. they know what they are looking for and with smell. Unfortunately your body is constantly producing urine and your bladder doesn’t empty out all the way as baby is on it.

This happened to me. I went pee in the morning, then went to make my breakfast (night dress and no underwear, because that's most comfortable right now), and I just randomly piddled on the floor with no warning or control.

Asked the OB about it when I saw her a couple of days later. They checked my urine and found a low level of bacteria, so I had antibiotics for a week.

it’s so much more common than many think! When you get closer to having baby, everything becomes weak. Literally 😂

so she peed normally, then immediately uncontrollably peed so much that she thought her water broke, and now she’s just constantly leaking piss? lol 😂 it’s a no from me. Keep us updated. I’m curious how this turns out. lol there is a reason they ask if you’ve been leaking fluids as if your water broke at every prenatal appointment leading up to labor and delivery.

Yes, every time I go for a walk even just a mile, I come back and my shorts are wet because I’m constantly leaking pee even if I go pee right before we leave 🤦🏻‍♀️😅

yes actually. Had a friend do the same thing. It was just pee. I don’t know about anyone else but I’ve been peeing so much and so frequently. Also not my first rodeo.. when baby is moving into position, pushing on everything, everything becomes so weak. I asked my OB why am peeing and having so much discharge, because baby is getting into position.
I’m constantly having discharge and fluid and my OB said “it’s pee” you don’t empty everything out. But I guess they just lie to me. 😂

also, I don’t get asked about fluids leaking, so no, they don’t ask you at every appointment.

there’s a dif between a little pee and the amount that might be mistaken for water breaking. lol as I’ve said… we’ll see if she updates us.

girl, same here! I swear I’m always leaking pee! I had to ask my OB why my discharge smelt like pee and they told me it’s cause I’m pretty much peeing myself 😂

I'm constantly leaking pee and also thought my water broke, but it didn't.
My pants stink like pee, too. So I have to wash them after evey use. I'm so over it

you’re not alone! I shower literally daily for this reason!

they aren’t lying when they say everything becomes “loose” to prepare for baby! That includes your bladder 😂

I’ve urinated on myself a lot this pregnancy….my bladder is weak and I had a full bladder repair in 2022…so I don’t know about everyone else.

my bladder is weak because this is my second pregnancy. I don’t think anything ever really went back to normal nearly 7 years later.

Lol it never does. This is my 3rd baby and I’ve already had a prolapse. My body said “We are doing this again?!🤦🏾‍♀️”

I gotta look into ways to strengthen my bladder after this girl gets here 😂

I have to get up and pee again standing up bc everytime I go to the bathroom, this happens. He just presses the rest of it out when I stand up.

Did they test the fluid with the little swabs? They can tell what the liquid is

yes they tested the fluid with swabs

then I’d be pretty confident that it wasn’t amniotic fluid if it tested negative

it wasn't. I'm home now they wouldn't have let me go home if it was.

my Urogyn said any type of kegel exercise helps. Core as well to help with abdominal control.

It helped ALOT!! So hoping this go around, it helps again.

Educate yourselves on pelvic floor strengthening exercises and work on that ... it will help with postpartum healing as well.

Hi! So this kinda happened to me, I ended up delivering early (due 5/5, delivered 4/11). Thought my water broke bc I felt a sudden gush while laying in bed but had no contractions, went to hospital, they did a speculum test and said it tested negative for amniotic fluid and my cervix was still intact and no sign of rupture so they sent me home saying it was likely urine or vaginal discharge. But it was clear with no smell & didn’t look like discharge. I gushed again two or three more times, and already had my 36 wk checkup scheduled for that same day at the hospital in the afternoon so I told her about the additional hushes and she tested again, this time with slides under a microscope and the second slide showed ferning (when the amniotic fluid dries up on the slide it resembles fern leaves, this is positive for amniotic fluid) and she said it was likely a high leak. Please get this checked! I ended up getting induced.

thank you for this information. I'm going to message my OB and see what she says. I've been having light off and on pain in my pelvis all day. The leaking seemed to stop last night but I'm still getting clear discharge that makes me think it's amniotic fluid.

In labor after three trips to the hospital they finally admitted me. That was stressful. I'm waiting for them to tell me if my water broke or not. I'm not sure due to having issues with me loosing fluid over time. My May baby is going to be an April baby

Hi everyone thank you for your comments and help. My baby girl was born on 4/23 at 4:55pm. I dilated pretty quickly after the second visit to the hospital and I got sent home. 3 trips to the hospital in three days two of those in one day not fun but now I have a beautiful baby girl.
