Still no babbling …

7 months tomorrow and no consonant sounds yet or a combination of them. baby coos and smiles, laughs, squeals, I might have heard an occasional “ba” but nothing else just a lot of ahhhhh and ooooo and ehhhh (just vowels) should I be concerned? she is hitting other milestones just fine.
Rolling and sitting ok will flop after a bit but has gotten better at sitting independently. No crawling yet but I know that is not delayed and some babies dont ever craw

My 7 month old is doing the same. I don’t think you have anything to worry about.

Be patient mama! It happened literally over night with my baby right around 8 months. Every baby is different and work at different skills at a time❤️

My baby babbles a lot but isn’t sitting up on his own yet and not intending to crawl. Each baby is different and has their own strengths and weaknesses much like adults. They’ll get there in time!

There is a baby crawling and pulling himself up in the crib at my job (I am a preschooler teacher but occasionally work in other rooms) and he started doing this at 5 months!

However, my son doesn’t do that but he does talk more than that baby. Now, I don’t know about this butI thought cooing and babbling is the same? Now, I’m worried

My son (7mo) isn’t babbling either. Our pediatrician said it’s not a concern until after 9 months. Especially since he’s hitting every other milestone.

After a bit of research, I take back what I stated - my son does “babble” in the sense of saying “did, did, did, did” “da, da, da, da” but he doesn’t say much else, for what it’s worth.

However, I do know that some kids are just late talkers and are otherwise healthy. If your baby hasn’t cooed a whole lot this entire time, he/she may not talk as much now but clearly I worry about this too! Do not feel ashamed of asking or worrying, I worry about my son having a birth mark (I didn’t know what a Mongolian blue spot was!) - every person has a varying temperament and preferred way to talk a little or talk a lot!

We have several kids who can talk very well and enunciate words well and engage …However, we also have kids at my job who are 3-4 years old and have minimal to no speech but later grow strong and talk endlessly!

My son started babbling and then stopped for a bit. I always say “ba ba ba or da da da” so he can repeat them. And now it’s rare when he quiet lol

When do things get easier?

As we entered the 9-12 month stage, my son started crawling and pulling himself up. He also became more clingy and does not play alone, still doesnt sleep through the night, and this week has been sick (so EVERYTHING amplified). I am tired and overwhelmed. Please lie and tell me things get better. 🥺

Colostrum storing?

Has anyone successfully extracted colostrum before the baby’s born? Apparently it gets produced from 16w pregnant and you can start storing it in the freezer but I’m 34w looking at my nipples and the syringes on amazon wondering how it works?? Like what did you use and did it hurt? 🥲

Self settling

Any tips or advice of how to teach 6.5month old to self settle? I’m up multiple times in the night to cuddle her back to sleep and put the dummy in. I understand she will wake up and want a cuddle etc but any tips on self settling would be appreciated 🥰

Baby losing weight

Hi all, it's been a long time since I had a baby (my son is 15!). My daughter is 10 days old and was 9lb born, she has since lost weight at every appointment and is at a 12% loss. I am breast feeding every two hours for over an hour and topping her up every feed. I pump and can get 60ml in 10 minutes so I know my supply is okay. Anyone had this before? Can give me some tips? I currently feel like I'm letting my baby down.

Breastfeeding

Does it ever feel better? The actual feeding part of it is going really well and baby boy is growing so well. I’m struggling with how my boobs feel day to day - it’s really getting me down most days. The let downs make me feel awful and sounds silly but, I am also really missing not wearing a bra! 9 weeks postpartum and still getting fairly engorged, even with comfort pumping.

Any advice or just shared stories would help. I’m so torn between carrying on because I enjoy the feeding side of it or switching to formula.
