8 weeks today and still we’re not doing more than 1 and a half maybe 2 hours at a push stretches at night.
Whenever I look at google seems to say the norm should be every 2-3 hours waking but I’m not getting that.
Gas seems to be an issue and waking my baby. Only actually feeds for a short time then back asleep. Is this still quite normal at this age and will I get a break through at some point and some longer stretches at night or is this it now 🥲I can’t fall asleep in the amount of time my baby is asleep for so I’m up most of the night even though he does sleep quite a lot overnight he is not up looking to play or anything it’s just short bursts then I have to comfort him again as he cries.

Read moms on call it helped me to get to 4-5 stretches of sleep at night

I think maybe it's the gas if you say that's an issue or it just depends on the baby. My little one is just now over 2 weeks old and for the past few days she's been sleeping 2-4 hours at night, it could also be the night routine. I feed, change, and burp her before she lays down and to get her to sleep she falls asleep on me for a little while and then I move her to her bed. When I first brought her home she slept in a separate bassinet as well and would wake up every hour or two so I moved her next to me in a in bed bassinet, It's like a small version of a bassinet that goes in your bed so the baby can sleep next to you but still be safe and since then she has slept really good.
we have a routine also pretty much the same since first 2 weeks and she sleeps next to me in bassinet like you say I only had one week when he would sleep 3 hour stretches but been downhill since then 🥲 but will just keep going. The gas is frustrating as it wakes him when he’s so peaceful asleep

It seems like the main problem is the gas then, you could try burping her more throughout the bottles she has, or some other mommies say night time baths have worked to help them relax, you could also try talking to your pediatrician to see if they have any suggestions about the gas

If she is breastfed than it's normal, if it's formula maybe you need to change the type
I combi feed maybe should try more formula feeds as mainly BF

You look into a comfort formula which targets issues of gas and constipation usually. Anti colic bottles to prevent gulps of air being swallowed, burping between ounces and through out the feeds. Playtime through the day where you’re doing bicycle legs and stretches etc, warm baths before bed, extra attempts to burp not just around feeding

It's really normal newborn behaviour. So is the gas

My baby is 14 months and he still only sleeps for a couple of hours at a time. It’s just normal baby behaviour, completely westernised thing to thinking babies should sleep through longer. I wouldn’t worry x
