He’s dumb af actually, no offense but that’s never been a thing, I do believe he has to be listed as father but I’m not sure, but he definitely does not have to be in the room when the baby was born, and you don’t have to inform him as soon as the baby is born, if he has been aware and hasn’t done his fair share then he can be put on cs, now don’t take my word exactly for everything because I myself have never dealt with cs or had problems with my bd/bf just because this will be our first living child, but I’ve seen aunts and uncles and even my mother deal with these type of things! And another thing if they do put him on child support and he refuses to pay that’s just trouble for him, my mother put my brothers father on Cs and he tried to escape it and it eventually caught up with him, they threatened to arrest him, and my mom tried to take him off after my siblings were grown, and they told her no not until he pays everything he owes her for all the years he ran from paying it!

One thing you should not tell him is that you have proof of anything just save it in a file & you can definitely still put him in CS even a year after your LO is born he will pay for all those time I was told and also keep receipts of everything/ purchases and copy them and put them in a folder the only way you can’t put him on child support is if he is not listed in the birth certificate

If he’s on the birth certificate you can. If he isn’t, then that’s just a trip down to your local courthouse for a DNA test when you request child support

So, used to work for a foster and adoption agency. If you file child support they will do a paternity DNA test. You don't need to be in the delivery room lol
You also don't need the DNA test to file child support, you can file it and it'll be a court law order for him to do a paternity test

It doesn’t matter anywhere, that I’m aware of, if you are in the delivery room or not 😂😂 even if he’s not on the birth certificate, they got DNA tests lol and I’m almost 26 years old and my sister is 28 yo and my bio dad still owes back child support lol when the stimulus checks hit my mom got my bio dads 😂😂 he never even saw that money…so even if he “stays in jail” or whatever that money will just rack up. And some states don’t even put them in jail anymore because they say it doesn’t help them work to pay the child support 😂😂

If he wasn’t on the birth certificate it’ll be difficult to do it but it is possible. If your state is a non supporters of deadbeats then they’ll force him to prove paternity and will threaten jail time if he doesn’t cooperate lol. He sound goofy 😆
