My little one has slept really well until about a week ago. All of a sudden he will only sleep if being held. I’m afraid we will need to sleep train now, even though he’d already been self settling for a few months. Anyone else experiencing this?

My boy was doing the same. We were able to put our son in his cot and he would fall asleep on his own and wake 2 times in the night for a feed. During the regression, he was waking every 1-2hrs, screaming and really upset. Sometimes it would take 30mins to 1hr for him to go back to sleep even with us rocking, cuddling and soothing him. It took about 1-2 weeks before his sleep went back to his usual. It was a rough couple of weeks but he is now back to his usual, we put him down in his cot and he drifts off to sleep on his own with 2 quick wakes for a feed. All that to say, if you dont want to sleep train dont feel like you have to. I didnt and the regression passed and our LO is back to his usual. 8months is a crazy busy time for them in terms of development! Give your LO (and yourself) lots of grace during this time ❤️

good to know others are going through it too! The sleep deprivation is tough 🫠

@Mel i totally get how you feel, it was a very draining couple of weeks but it does get better!
Oh absolutely! Dont listen to anyone else, you do what feels right for you and your baby 🥰 If i listened to all the advice people have given me with my 2 little ones, I'd be miserable and my babies would be too. Do what works for you ❤️

we ended up trying spaced soothing the past few days for naps and overnight, there was lots of tears but afterwards he slept through the night with no wake ups! It’s hard to hear them cry but it definitely works
