Toddler tantrums

Hey mamas!

So please can you tell me how do you deal with or discipline your child when tantruming and slapping, hitting and biting other kids especially when you have your second baby.

Is it just that I'm reading my toddler wrong. She's become more slappy. At home she's pushing her younger brother onto the ground and he face plants the floor 😔🫣

I give out to her here especially as I'm trying to usually get stuff ready for going out or just in the middle of something else. She refuses to be involved in certain tasks so I have tried that.

Out and about there's only so much gentle hands and don't do that you can do before you have to do something about it.

Today I brought her out of the soft play area to give her a break she wouldn't listen and I gave her two options either sit on the couch for now or go home. She wanted to go back in. She kept screaming and yelling and attempted to bite me.
We eventually did the music and singing all was ok. But then afterwards she got back into the soft play area and I kept an eye from afar.

She then started acting up and trying to put at a girls let's and dragging her trousers and they were coming off.

I took her out and brought her home. Although she was screaming at the top of her lungs. It was best to not stay as it wasn't benefiting anyone.

I did realise she was a little more hungry than usual as she ate a lot more when we went home (we barely got a chance to get food at the soft play) but got her a snack for the way home.

I think that was a part to play but not all the time as she isn't hungry and acts up with her brother.

What do you guys do in these situations or how can you anticipate or deal with them before or when they're happening to prevent escalation? Is a generally strict routine good or not? I have a loose routine but nothing too strict we always go somewhere in the morning by 9/9.30. And then an afternoon nap after lunch and then afternoon playing and snacks...and dinner..then slow down/shopping and night time routine.

Tips welcome thanks 🙏

Great thanks so much! Yes it's the follow through and I think I wasn't as firm initially but did follow through! And yes to the routine with food etc! I find she doesn't want to eat her own things and generally she has eaten enough but she had disappeared before I could get over to the food area and I was already on alert a little bit as I could sense her energy with the other kids there. Yes and thanks for the advice with maybe being too strict or if I shout because I'm wrecked but I don't want her to be afraid of me/over react either!
It's such a learning curve on your first I find still 🙈🙈 and it's so much harder to keep on top of it all once there's two and when we're on the sleep deprived side 🫣🫣 great advice! Thanks again 🙏❤️

Thanks so much! We can all learn lol 🙈 and they really do humble us! I thought with one of yes it's great and easy to handle ....but yes much harder with two energy wise, and sometimes practically in those moments lol 😆🤣 yes this is where the fun begins! My girl is great but she goes through phases! As do they all I'm sure ❤️ really appreciate it! Feel I'm stuck in the survival mode at the moment with the sleep deprivation so want to catch anything before it gets out of hand 🫣😂❤️

Wdy think of this for a toddler to learn word construction?

I'm open to anything else to start teaching him to read and write. He's 3!

Do men really enjoy fellatio?

Been together more than 10 years, but it's been a while since he even seemed remotely interested in me getting on my knees, or vice versa so to speak. I think it was once last year. Must be something I am doing wrong 🤔. Generally everything else in that department is great and we have two young kids with no extra support, so it's quite surprising we can't keep our hands off each other but may need to try new things. It's basically 2 positions each time with some foreplay.

Naps

How is everyone doing for naps?

Little one is 9 months old and will have 2 half hour naps and one solid 1 hour - 2 hour nap a day

Then settles for night around 9pm. Wakes for a feed around 3:30 then sleeps until 6-7

Vanilla extract

Has anyone used alcohol free vanilla in their babies formal to help them drink?
I’m 100% sure my baby refuses her bottles as she doesn’t like the taste of it!

Just anxious to try it, don’t want her to get used to it and then refuse bottles again after two weeks of using (correct me if I’m wrong but I’ve read you use it for 2 weeks max)

TIA 🙂

Pumping advise

FTM to a 2 week old! I’m breastfeeding and then giving one formula bottle last in the evening before bed. I want to start expressing milk to give me some breathing room and also allow my partner to be more involved in feeding. I’m finding the idea of introducing pumping into my day quite overwhelming though. I don’t want to take milk away from my baby by pumping if he needs it during the day when being breastfeed.

Can anyone advise how I start pumping and when to do it? Thank you!

Sex post C section

Hi ladies I’m 4 weeks 5 days postpartum and I had a C section. I’m not bleeding properly anymore just some brownish discharge stuff that starts on and off. I’d like to do the deed with my partner; is it okay to do so or shall I wait the full 6 weeks. I feel up for it but also worried because the advice is 6-8 weeks.
