Hey! I’m a size 18 and currently 26+3 weeks pregnant… but I still feel conscious of my ‘bump’ I still don’t feel like I look pregnant just look slighter bigger than I did before 🤦🏽♀️😂
I looked online and some people said pregnancy support bands make you look more ‘D’ shape instead of ‘B’ shape… has anyone tried one and is it worth investing in one for support anyway?
Or are they just annoying to wear?
TIA x

I'm sorry I don't know anything about support bands. However, I, too, am plus size and felt this way until recently. I've invested in some proper maternity leggings/pants and big knickers that sit higher on my bump and make me looker 'rounder' (which I never thought I would ask for 🤣). Whereas before, the waist bands were pulling me in and giving me that B shape you mentioned x
thank you!!! Unfortunately my bump is just B shaped even when nothing on… I just want to embrace a bump - hopefully by summer it’ll be more rounded maybe!
I’m pleased you managed to find a solution though xx

Same. I don’t look pregnant, I just look fat(ter).
I bought a pregnancy support band because my pelvis is absolutely buggered by the pregnancy, but I can’t say it changes my shape when I’m wearing it.
I was at a wedding recently and I bought some special maternity shapewear shorts for under my dress (for the chub rub… IYKYK) and those gave me more of a rounded shape. The dress was empire line, so that helped too.
Honestly, I’ve stopped caring now. I just tell people: “I’m not normally this fat, I’m just pregnant.”
haha I like this approach, I just always imagined being able to finally embrace my tummy when pregnant which sadly isn’t the case yet!
Are the shapewear comfy? Not sure I could deal with anything else over my tummy 😂

I know exactly what you mean. We are supposed to be embracing our bumps and revelling in our maternal goddessness or whatever… but you know what? Fuck it. I’m too hormonal and uncomfortable to care anymore. Pregnancy is hard enough; we don’t need the added pressure tbh.
These are the ones I bought:

They were nice and supportive around the bump without pinching. But I did find myself having to roll down the thighs quite a bit, which was annoying. I would probably buy the panties next time as opposed to the shorts.

I'm the same ladies. I lost 17 stone 3 years ago and I've got loose skin and an apron and I just look like I've started regaining the weight. I've also taken to the approach of stating I'm 6 months pregnant as soon as I catch anyone giving me the "she's getting fat again" look 😂

Hi lovely- I’m not plus sized but the way my weight sits on my stomach , alongside my annoyingly deep belly button, gives me more of a B. I’m 24+1 and it’s slowly rounding out, I promise it’ll happen! Regardless of shape, all bumps are beautiful, it’s hard and I’ve found to really difficult accepting the shape and rapidly changing size of my body, but you’re growing your gorgeous baby in there- love your body for that xxx
