Two year old cries everytime after his nap

My son just turned 2 he cries every time he wakes up from a nap and it won’t stop it goes on for about 10 min … this has been happening before he was 2 as well . It’s very rare for him to wake up and not cry

I have twins and one of my boys is like this. I go in to wake them up prepared to cuddle him on the floor until he's ready. He's not hurt, he's not mad, but I just make sure I'm there to hold him through it. It's been at least 3 months and he's perfectly happy otherwise. I partially think he has nightmares but idk. I have extremely vivid dreams and did as a kid too so he might not be able to tell the difference? Not sure

My son does the same thing. Not only naps, but in the morning or if he wakes up in the middle of the night. I just go in and be positive and give him a big hug.

My daughter does this if she wakes up and I go in immediately. So normally if I see her waking up, I'll give her a little while off moving around before I go into the room

@Alyssa so should I be there when he wakes up or wake him up my self ?

Yeah @Alexandra my son just 2 in March and has been waking up at night multiple times a night crying. I know how hard it is bc they can't tell us what's wrong but I noticed being there for him when he wakes up helps. Just reassure him if he does wake crying then just hold him or be close by and just let him know it's okay and mama is here. That helps my son most of the time.

@Samantha mine sleeps with us . But I’m talking about this is during his day nap

Mine does too sometimes, both in the morning and after his nap. Recently he started yelling mom! multiple times but mostly he cries. I figured it was because he isn’t talking yet since as soon as I walk in he gets all giggly and bouncy. Is your son talking? Maybe it’s just leftover from his baby days of crying as communication?

@Sasha yea he’s not talking yet like that he says words but not where it’s sentences
