Started at around 23 weeks. Am now 33 weeks and the pain is just getting increasingly worse. Paracetamol doesn’t touch it and the majority of the time it feels like my chest/rib area is being torn/stabbed. I’m struggling to do the smallest of everyday tasks without the pain being unbearable.
Anyone have any advice on treatment that worked?

I didn’t know that’s what it was called… I’ve got it very minorly I think. Not all the time, but certainly when I wake up from being hunched laying on my side and the stabbing sensation in the center of my chest is unbearable. Can’t imagine dealing with it all the time - big hugs!!

Yes I got diagnosed with it in my upper/mid chest pre pregnancy and it got worse after my second trimester. I've been seeing a physio for it for the past 8 weeks and that has really helped. They have said it will get better after bubba is born.

I was in a car accident at about 12 weeks and suffered awfully with costochondritis for about 2 months afterwards. I was told the only treatment is rest and anti inflammatories which obviously we can't take in pregnancy. It will get better but could be a little while 😬

I had this, not in pregnancy but just randomly! You can't take the anti inflammatory medication but you can try warm baths if you can lie down that much and hot water bottles etc. I like the sticky heat pads?
I might have to give the heat packs a go. ATM I’m trying hot and cold therapy and bath salts and nothing seems to help 😔

Bless you it is horrible 💗 hope you can catch a break soon
