Have you tried breastfeeding on your side ? Like lay the baby in the bed and while you’re laying down on your side you breast feed them

Lay down it’s such a lifesaver and so much more comfortable

I found that to be the best for me when I was breast feeding my baby

my baby is almost 4 months and just got big enough for me to comfortably side lying feed her so if you have a chunky lil one you could try that ! when i feed in bed i use lots of pillows under my lower and mid back and feed her in a reclined position . if you have a strong letdown its also suggested to lean back to keep the flow more controlled by your little !

Definitely recommend laying on your side and feeding baby that way. Just make sure that when you get comfortable have baby almost like hugging you and their belly button touches yours if that makes sense. I got through my first bf journey with my oldest that way, especially since I’m very top heavy and it was hard for me to get comfortable and have baby comfortable

I'm not sure how to do it comfortably since then I have to prop up in my arm and it then hurts my shoulder.(I'm a dog groomer by trade) so my arms and shoulders always hurt before this too )

could you explain a little more are you leaned back on your back with pillows propped with baby on top or on your side with the pillows behind you?

I put two pillows behind my back and then a nursing pillow under the baby. Depending on how small the baby is you can put a folded up blanket on top of the nursing pillow to raise it a little by their head.

also my baby is still really small and can't hold her head up herself

Laying in bed on the side use to be my fav because we use to co sleep . Now with my NB he’s so tiny that I put him on the pillow and bring my knees up

When I was breastfeeding I would make myself comfortable first then lay my daughter wherever was best for me and she’d figure it out sometimes even like tummy to tummy worked
My favourite ways to feed was with a nursing pillow sort of under my arm still wrapped around my body but on an angle so most of the pillow was more under the side where bubs head would go then I’d rest my arm on that and her head on my arm.
Or on my side laying down with Bub laying next to me

Bring your baby head to your boob while laying her on a pillow ,put a pillow behind you and prop your knees up .

on my back and i hold her tummy towards mine so shes pretty much fully supported by my torso instead of having to hold her weight with my arms , then i just put a pillow under the elbow that i have to support her head with :)

I've kinda tried this before but how do I support her head with my hand without it hurting. I feel like my wrist was always bent back to my h and got really sore

its kinda hard to explain but i put a firmer pillow in my armpit or between my elbow and ribs if that makes more sense . i also pull my knee up on whichever side she’s nursing and it helps support her weight with counter pressure on the back of your hand

oh ok that makes sense thank you!

Side lying in bed, or if you have a nursing friendly carrier I find that easier. I use a ring sling, it has an adjustment period but there are great YouTube videos showing how to position. We still use the cradle hold at 5.5 months and are working at nursing upright in the sling

I would get in touch with your infant feeding team and get some 1:1 face to face support. They will look at positioning and latch etc and can advise on what may work for you with what you have x

Also just wanted to add, I was super uncomfortable postpartum due to birthing trauma but 2 months pp I went to the chiropractor and got an adjustment and that helped a lot especially with my hip/back pain when nursing

thank you guys!

When I have to feed my baby in the bed, I use this pillow & I absolutely love it!

omg great idea! thank you!

Hey, it’s always good to first make yourself comfortable in a position either sitting or laying sideways, then place baby if sitting you can try laying baby diagonally across your tummy on top of a pillow is that’s comfortable for you (I found the pillows to get in the way but would use one to support my arm that was holding hope that makes sense). You could try laying baby diagonally away from your tummy and place them onto a pillow for support while support head and neck with hand the rugby hold I always found quite comfortable if you google this it will show you how to achieve that hold baby always fed so well in the position.

What adorable boy

I would lay on my back and breastfeed like that. I had a strong let down abd over produced so it was really the only way I could. My son enjoyed it almost and I wasn't hurting

Have you tried laying on your side with pillow between your legs and pillow between neck and arm

I feed laying on my side but the only issue I have now that she’s six months is that she doesn’t feed when I hold her in the normal position when we are out which is such a hassle so just bare that it mind
