Hi everyone,
Has anyone used Zoomdoc to get a fit to fly letter before? I’ve looked at Updoc but the reviews aren’t very good…
My Dr and Midwife won’t write one… apparently they ‘don’t do that anymore’ even though they’ve verbally told me I am fit to fly (I’ll be 31 weeks when we go abroad)
Thank you 😊

I have a midwifes appointment booked for 31 weeks to get a fit to fly letter - I will be flying at 32 I would maybe ring a question this again as it seems strange that they won't do it

I’d deffo ask again, my midwife said she will have my fit to fly letter ready for my to pick up at my 28wk apt which is 2 days before I fly

My midwife wrote me one at 28 weeks, last week, deffo write one. Do check with your airline though because Ryanair and jet2 both require their own fit to fly letters be signed by a midwife.

I had an appointment today with my midwife, and asked this question as we too go away when I’m 31 weeks, 32 weeks upon returning.
I asked a couple of weeks ago about a fit to fly, and then they said it’s not a problem. But in the time from that appointment to today, they’ve introduced new guidelines in our trust - they’re not allowed to issue a “fit to fly” - instead it’s more like a letter/statement of facts, basically outlining due date/gestation and if there are any known risks in pregnancy etc. But they can no longer actually give confirmation or use the words “fit to fly”.
I imagine it’s to cover their own backs, in case anything was to happen.
I have my 31 week appointment booked for the day before my holiday and they’ll issue this letter for me.

Thanks girlies! Yeah it’s because neither the doctor or midwife want responsibility if anything were to happen basically. I’m flying with Tui and I contacted them yesterday and they said I have to have one… she did say I don’t have to declare it, but if I’m stopped and asked at check in etc I have to have it so I don’t want to risk turning up without one then being unable to fly.
I’ll phone my Doctors again and ask for print outs of my maternity notes or summit and get them to sign that… but I think they’d be funny about that as well! Eurgh! X

I flew with tui as well and they did ask for it at check in but my bump was out- you could always wear something baggy lol
