My son is 8months almost 9 and sticks his fingers so far back he chokes himself to the point of making himself throw up.
Had anyone else had this happen and how do I stop it 😬 I’m at a loss of what to do

🤷 my son does it too I just ignore it I think he was doing it for attention so I stopped paying attention to it

I thought about this too! But he does it even when I’m paying attention to him. Maybe he’s just exploring

It's a developmental thing. Don't worry x

My baby also went through a phase of this because his hands were always in his mouth, I think he learned eventually and stopped doing it as much but he still does it every so often 🙈

My son also has done it couple of times, he still is in this phase, I'm using redirection technique im puttingin his hands some kind of toy, but I also think it's development thing and he will outgrown it.

It’s quite often a sensory thing. Just seeing what happens when I do… etc!

My LB started around the same age and still does it now at 16 months (corrected age)

Mine did that too!! It was a phase 17 months now and he doesn't do it anymore.. try not to give him a reaction

I wonder if, from an evolutionary perspective, this might help babies become familiar with their gag reflex and avoid choking. It is kind of a form of mouth mapping. Interesting thought!

My daughter does this she’s 14 almost 15 months and been doing this for the last four months now I don’t know why she does it it may just be them exploring on what they can do i don’t know x

it helps their gag reflex for solid foods
