Hey everyone.
Really wanting some advice. My little one will be 7 months next week. We've always contact napped. He always falls asleep in my arms even at night. Only time he doesn't is when we are out on walks or in car.
This all started as he got colic and it was the only way to settle him. He also has reflux so I worried about him being sick so could monitor it if he was in my arms. He's always slept in his next to me at night has slept through the might since about 12 weeks.
But last week he has been waking as Spon as I put Him down.
I'm basically wanting to cut the contract maps as much as possible.
If I put him in his big boy cot, next me or pram he will cry or be wide awake. How do I start this process? 🤔

Start slow with the first nap of the morning. Expect short 30 min naps only. You will probably need to transfer when asleep for a while to get him used to napping in there- I would choose either big cot or next to me to have consistency. Key is transferring when in a deep sleep around 12 mins- gently drop his arm to make sure he is fast asleep. Lower bum first then head then pause. Then remove your hand. Then back away gently and run lol! You will probably only get 18-24 mins of time to yourself before he wakes again, I used to eat, get ready and wash the bottles in this time 😂 but when he wakes, as long as he is happy you can leave him in there chatting for a while to get him used to being in there during the day. Once that is nailed you can move on to other naps! Eventually the naps will lengthen, now mine does 45 mins on her own and I dont have to transfer asleep so I get about 40 mins yay! I still do at least one good contact nap a day to make sure she gets a good long nap in.

In time you can start getting him to go down himself! One last thing try and be consistent so I do the same as bed time- dark room and sleep suit and use white noise etc anything you use for bed time x
