Bloody show?

37+4, just had sex with my partner and have bled quite a bit. No accompanying pain but does this look like I’ve lost my mucus plug? Should I be worried?

Ring triage/maternity unit. My mucus plug was slightly darker in colour

That doesn’t look like a mucous plug. A mucous plug would have mucous like viscosity and consistency (I.e. stretchy, gooey). That looks like straight up fresh blood. Echo commenter above, go to hospital.

Definitely go to labor and deliver/call asap

This looks more like a blood clot than your mucus plug. Definitely call L&D ASAP. I hope everything is ok x

This would be classed as a fresh bleed, absolutely contact the assessment unit and be checked ASAP. Hope everything is OK x

Mine was dark red on colour.. like the start/end of a period look colour, it had parts in it too.
Like all the other comments, definitely call up asap, as that's fresh blood

Just checking in to see how everything is going. Hope you’re ok!!

Thank you all, everything is fine. The midwives think my cervix has softened and it irritated it to cause the bleeding. Going for a scan tomorrow but all tests came back fine thankfully x

Period like cramps

Hi
I’m currently 33 weeks pregnant and I keep getting period like cramps I thought these were Brixton hicks but I’ve heard they only last 30 seconds ish as this can go on for a good time frame then go away and come back, they aren’t bad enough where I can’t do basic things they just feel like I’m about to get my period I’m jus wondering how normal this is? Baby is still very actively kicking xx

C section or natural?

I am a control freak and thinking c section is the least stressful route for me and baby… less complications during labour etc. whilst acknowledging recovering can be hard.
If it could be guaranteed no tearing or complications then I would opt for natural and kind of want to experience the feeling.
Then again could plan and go either way 😂 arghh!
Anyone else in this predicament?

Midwife check

Can someone remind me when the midwife visits you at home? Is it the day after you’re discharged? And is that the same on the weekend or do they not visit then? Thanks!
