Strain on relationship..

Does your postpartum depression and anxiety is ruining your relationship with your partner?

How can your partner be supportive of what you’re going through? What is your partner doing for you when you are an emotional rollercoaster?

I don’t know how to help myself and idk how I can ask my partner to help me. LOST and feel really alone in my thoughts even though I know I’m NOT alone and others feel the same!

I’m frustrated 😣 I was working on myself pre-baby and now I feel like self-care and my self-growth are thrown out the window as I am caring for my son. My hormones are everywhere (can’t make sound decisions, can’t think straight, can’t talk right or even have time to think things thoroughly) and it’s not allowing me to do what I need to do for myself because I’m too stressed, anxious and worried about my son. His needs are just WAY MORE IMPORTANT than mine.

I’m now considering therapy ONCE a week to help me navigate this 😭😭😭😭😭

I feel the same I started therapy and it’s helping to talk about it but make sure you find one who’s certified in PPD!!

Yes its one of many strains on a relationship postpartum

He should sit down and listen to what you need for support. This could be encouraging you to do daily things that help like walks outside, drinking and eating enough, taking on a fair share of night time baby care so you sleep or taking baby so you nap on weekends. Taking on a share of the mental load. Helping defend your boundaries to visitors and when you visit his family. Support you in your decisions for baby. Hold the baby so you can call to make an appointment for therapy.

Having open honest talks about things like intimacy so you know there is no pressure from him and don't have to worry about that

I agree therapy is best if tailored I did a generic one and didn't help at all

I can totally relate and you're 100% not alone

How often did you do it? Did you ever talk to your therapist about your relationship? Mine sucks and it’s been falling apart even pre-baby.

I go once a week and text her when I need advice & so has mine I know how you feel seriously

The sad part is…he’s been emotionally detached for a long time now & so he doesn’t really seem to care to want to support me. It’s so easy for him to just go about life doing what he was doing even before the baby was here. He was encouraging me to do things and when I did them — I told him I have major mom guilt, miss my freedom and don’t want to come home. I’m stubborn sometimes and also a person who always did things for others :/ ITS SO HARD for me to accept help! It’s a constant battle. Idk how couples do it tbh. I preach these things you mentioned but just can’t seem to get myself to do what I preach (as it helps others and not me).

@Jenn honestly totally how I feel!! Therapy definitely will help!!! I also found finding even a few minutes a day for self care such as standing outside or reading a book while feeding the baby helps!

Yeah — once a week might really help me out. What?! I would love to be able to text my therapist for advice. I need a lifeline therapist lol.

IT IS SERIOUSLY SO HARD! I broke down yesterday RANDOMLY during work and had to take myself outside to cry and all of a sudden, I stopped and I’m like WTH?! 🤦🏻‍♀️

Leaky nappy help

What nappies are you using to stop leaks?? We use pampers ultra dry size 5, and for the past few nights he has lashed through and we’ve had to completely change him during the night. Last night he leashed through twice!! He sleeps on his front and stays leaks through at the top of his leg where the tabs connect. Didn’t know whether to size up, he has a bit of a belly on him but he’s smack in middle of weight guidance so shouldn’t need too

Am I wrong?

I’ve been wanting to add more garden beds to my garden. Husband says “hey do you want to go to Home Depot to get that wood for the garden beds.” Cool I’m excited I’ve been wanting to get this done for awhile.

We get there and we’re picking out wood and I make 2 comments about how I don’t like how 2 pieces of wood look that he picked out. And he says if you’re going to be this picky then u can do this yourself.

I literally made 2 comments and mind you I’m the one paying for the wood.

I felt dismissed and like my opinion didn’t matter and if I wanted to have an opinion then I need to do it myself. Like what?

It was rude and not okay. Am I wrong? Am I overreacting?

He thinks it was fine that he said that.

New born

Finally had my baby girl via C-section on the 18th, everything has been so far. But I’ve noticed she’s very fussy and cries a lot. I’ve been trying to exclusively breastfeed. The lactation consultant at the hospital said I did look like I’m making enough milk for her. She was latching on good at the hospital and now here at home, she doesn’t seem to want to latch at all. She’s been crying a lot and very fussy. I’m just wondering is she’s colic or like maybe she just doesn’t want the breast anymore?

My 6 month old makes no eye contact with me and doesn’t respond when I call him. Can this just be a phase or personality trait as apposed to autism
