Hi! I’m currently en route to the airport for a 4hr flight, i’m 26 weeks today and got the all clear to fly. I’m just wondering if anyone has any tips for flying pregnant? I do have compression socks for plane but anymore tips will be welcome!

I’m going away Friday I’ll be 25 weeks. Tips please 🙏 xx

I just flew 4 hours Tuesday. Also used compression socks and made sure I was up every 45 minutes doing light stretches and lower limb exercises. Stay hydrated it will go quick and you’ll be fine :)

I got compression socks but fyi Jet2 wanted to see a letter from the midwife and I was only 24 weeks. Try sit by the aisle too as I needed to get up and down a lot to move and stretch my legs xxx

hi I’m flying tomorrow and haven’t got a letter from the midwife as the Jet 2 policy said you don’t need one until 28 weeks. I’m 24 weeks too, did they ask as you had a bump? Now im slightly panicking!

I flew with jet2 yesterday babe I really would call them and get one as I read online they want to see a letter regardless and they did when I got to the airport to check our bags in. I flew from stansted and yes because I had a bump they asked. I called 2 days before I flew and they sorted it so quickly. I would deffo give them a call as it’s important the staff know your pregnant in case of any issues xxx

ok perfect thank you, was it a fit to fly note or just a note from the midwife? Xx

Drink lots of water xx

fit to fly just said amber was checked on this date and can confirm there are no issues currently during her pregnancy. Let me know how you get on. They should be able to do it quick for you xxx

so strange. I got it just in case and when I got there they clearly knew I was pregnant and asked to see a letter xx

yes they said the same to me, I swear they make it up 😫

my midwife said they don’t do it only the gp but too late to make an appt now, guess I’ll have to hope they don’t ask me 😫 xxx

I think it’s random
I just flew last week with British airways and American Airlines - 24 weeks but looking like I’m 9 months pregnant because I have twins and my bump is huge.. I was sure someone would ask me bc it was 9 hr flights and no one did 🤷🏽♀️
But at 18 weeks with EasyJet and British airways they did ask, for 2 hr flights
My tips - Stand up to stretch often, don’t cross your legs, use compression socks, drink lots of water, bring extra snacks ☺️

really? I’m based in Buckinghamshire and my midwife done it for me straight away? Maybe wear a baggy jumper just in case but I think that’s ridiculous they wouldn’t do it for you. But obviously you want them to know as if you need anything they know your circumstances ect. I had a special boarding pass printed for me at check in saying baby on board 24 weeks xx

Currently in South Africa 26 weeks. Your GP will do a same day phone appt for you and email you the fit to fly letter straight away. No one asked me for it on the way here and it was over an 11 hour flight.

Anyone else’s gp charge them? Mine is trying to charge me £35 for signing my Jet2 letter and I’m absolutely fucking raging 😂 for a signature and a stamp are you mad

what! I wouldn’t be having that. All prescriptions are free during pregnancy up until your baby is 1. Surely that isn’t legal? I’d be pushing back raging if I was you!x
Hi! sorry i’ve just seen this🥰 I flew with jet2 and didn’t need a fit to fly at all, I’ll be 28 weeks when i get back! I did ring my GP and they wouldn’t provide me with one, but I was told that I can use my badgernotes app as proof of gestation if needed x
