Has anyone got suspicions that their little ones are neurodivergent but as they have achieved all their milestones the health visiting team are not interested in pursuing diagnosis further yet?
If yes what symptoms has your toddler got that makes you think they’re potentially neurodivergent?
My husband is adamant our little girl is on the autistic spectrum, whereas I’m not sure if she’s part sensitive/part toddler and it’s something she’ll grow out of?

My son was recently diagnosed. The main telltale for us was a speech delay and sensitivity to certain sounds and light as well as having quite obsessive interests in certain things (trains and wheels is the main one) x

My son has hit all his milestones and is scarily clever. However we and a few gp’s/ his nursery believe he is high functioning.
Eating is his biggest tell as he’s extremely funny with foods. He also likes routines and has an extremely good memory and doesn’t like it if people don’t use manners. He’s currently down to be tested so that when he goes to school we have support in place and also so we know how to best help him out when he’s having a meltdown.

I would put money on it but that’s because the rest of use either have a diagnosis or strongly suspect.
My 5 year old met milestone fine (or waaay exceeded) butOMG anxiety and sensory problems and meltdowns galore. She’s diagnosed autistic and I thing ADHD
My nearly 3 year old is speech delayed, and has some other traits but not so disruptive to “normal” life. Some funny clothes things like always wearing something with a hood, melting down if you stop him, always the same shoes, sensitive to sound etc and he looooves Thomas the tank engine 🙃I doubt he’d get a diagnosis yet though… maybe but I cba to try atm.
this sounds similar to my little girl - did nursery drive the diagnosis? Mine is due to start preschool in September and I’m so worried about how she’s going to cope.

It was actually a few gp’s who suggested after how he acted in appointments. We then mentioned it to his nursery when he started and they’re flagging it

I showed concerns for my little boy at his two year assessment and they HV told me he was meeting all milestones and said lots of toddlers can have neurodiverse traits so I suppose they want to give things chance to improve!. Once he started nursery, they flagged concerns mainly with speech but also social, obsession with numbers and letters, food. Now he’s on a waiting list!

We’re awaiting diagnosis but unlike yours maxi isn’t hitting all his milestones! Physically he’s way ahead, but communication and social skills he’s at least a yr behind! He’s also incredible fussy with food, which we’ve had confirmed this week is definitely a sensory issue, other things is he’s absolutely obsessive with thing especially cars we have 100s of them he’s watch the same episode of a tv program over again! He struggles with being dirty or things touching his face, unusual noises and being too hot/cold
who confirmed his fussy eating was due to sensory issues - my little one is the same and I’m sure it’s sensory related! Health visitors said stop giving her pizza/burgers/chips so she starts eating a varied diet - but she won’t even eat those things, frustrating they give such generalised advice 🙈

Yeah my boy is so fussy and I think it’s sensory and I think nursery agree but the HV is always, just keep trying and it doesn’t work.

We had the dysphagia team out (part of SALT) and they basically assess his ability to eat and drink to check there’s not a physical issue to it! So he had tonsils removed last years too and they were preventing swallowing but she said there is absolutely nothing wrong with his ability to eat drink and swallow which lead her to believe that it sensory along with some other behaviours she witnessed!
We’re still on baby pouches, and baby snacks along with toast and breadsticks and some fruits! We try and try and try to get him to eat other things but he either gags or has a meltdown! We’re back trying food therapy again! Awaiting a referral back to the dietitian to hopefully get referred to the feeding clinic in London
