@Nhiya Cunningham what do you mean by negative future effects?
The issue with these is if you can't find the heartbeat, you may panic. Best left to the professionals but each to their own
Doppler like any electrical machine generate unnatural heat waves, which can be harmful!
@Jess I don’t mean after birth effects.
@Alicia does this one sound like anything to you? sorry new mom here don’t know what to listen for
@Alicia
@haley sounds like a perfect baby heartbeat!
Yes Sounds like baby’s heart beat to me, placenta will be a whooshing sound! Don’t worry I used one on myself and was in multiple times a month in hospital getting a Doppler done and baby is fine! Just try not to worry as it’s hard to find sometimes depending on what way baby is lying! X
My midwife informed me not to use a Doppler and to only hear baby’s heartbeat through medical professionals as heartbreaking as it is another woman thought that she was hearing her baby’s heartbeat but instead was hearing her own.
@Mia that’s very true. Any medical professional will not want you using them as it causes more panic sometimes. What I would say is check in on baby if you want to have a listen or hear kicks ect, but if your listening in on baby due to problems your experiencing I’d always go to MAU and get the baby checked. But baby sounds perfect there!
The original one you posted you couldn’t really hear the heartbeat but the second one you posted in the comments you could. I would have to agree with some of the other moms on be careful using one as you can freak yourself out if you don’t hear something. That doesn’t necessarily mean something’s wrong the baby could just be positioned oddly that you can’t detect it.
The first one I don’t hear anything but artifact. The video in the comments though is baby ☺️
I would be very careful with using a Doppler yourself. My doctor informed me recent studies showcase that using one very early or done unprofessional and excessively can have future negative effects.
