Remy/Remi

Would this name make you automatically think about the rat from Ratatouille? I absolutely love the name but my husband says everyone will just think we've named him after a rat!🙄 Honest opinions please!?

I think it’s a great name! To be honest, I think a lot of people think the rat’s name is ratatouille and not remi anyways

Avatar

No I hear that name a lot it’s really nice ! And that wouldn’t even come to mind thinking of that unless you said.

A beautiful name and definitely does not remind me of rats 😄

Tbh I’ve watched Ratatouille countless times and it’s my first time hearing that his name was actually Remi! I think just like me, many people don’t realize that and wouldn’t make a connection.

Avatar

I honestly always forget the rat's name is even Remy 😅 I adore the name Remy! Also, Ratatouille is a good movie and the rat is an excellent chef so it's all good

Avatar

This sounds like a conversation between me and my husband 😂

If you love it, put your foot down. He will come around. I do not automatically think of the cartoon rat when I hear that name. My girl is Oasis and my partner and MIL were convinced everyone would liken her to the drink but I didn’t care. No one has ever mentioned it.

Avatar

I love the name! Would never associate it with that tbh. It’s a pretty old movie now x

Avatar

No!

Avatar

I love Remi 🥰
I wouldn't associate the name with the film at all

Avatar

Definitely wouldn’t think of a rat

Avatar

The name is cute I didn’t connect it and I’ve seen that move way too many times. Lol good luck with hubby.

That was on our list of names but all I can think of it the film. 🥲 Although not linked to an animal as far as I know our first born is called Hallie. Some people associate that with the parent trap film and others are completely unaware. Use the name if you like it. Someone will always have something to say about any name

Avatar

It’s my cats name, so you can tell your husband he’s named after a cat instead 😛
The cat came before the baby, and I did think aw what a shame it’s a great human name

Avatar

I just watched the movie this morning so it definitely did for me, but I wouldn’t think you’ve named them after that x

Avatar

Personally I do but only because ratatouille is one of my favourite films and growing up I had rats and called one of them Remy. I still think it's a stunning name though x

Avatar

It’s honestly such a lovely name! I love Disney anyway so perhaps I’m biased 🙈

Avatar

My nephew is named Remy and I’ve never thought about the rat!

Avatar

No. I know a few Remy’s if anything I think of the cognac but it’s a nice name.

C section or natural?

I am a control freak and thinking c section is the least stressful route for me and baby… less complications during labour etc. whilst acknowledging recovering can be hard.
If it could be guaranteed no tearing or complications then I would opt for natural and kind of want to experience the feeling.
Then again could plan and go either way 😂 arghh!
Anyone else in this predicament?

Period like cramps

Hi
I’m currently 33 weeks pregnant and I keep getting period like cramps I thought these were Brixton hicks but I’ve heard they only last 30 seconds ish as this can go on for a good time frame then go away and come back, they aren’t bad enough where I can’t do basic things they just feel like I’m about to get my period I’m jus wondering how normal this is? Baby is still very actively kicking xx

Midwife check

Can someone remind me when the midwife visits you at home? Is it the day after you’re discharged? And is that the same on the weekend or do they not visit then? Thanks!
