Mentally and physically... I want my little man to explore, get dirty, experience new things. I have leather moccasins for him but he's not a fan of anything on his feet while he's learning to walk right now. I do put him in pajama pants since he's crawling still too.
But the cement and his poor skin... his toes are kinda scuffed up...
I want to put him in bubble wrap and I know I stopped my daughter from too many sensory experiences with my first for these reasons. I don't want to do that again.
How do you come to terms with it? Just a lot of lotion?

I use Aquaphor for everything on my daughter . I’m the same way I have anxiety about everything with my baby girl .

Getting scuffed and scraped is part of life and skin heals. Being able to explore and get dirty has so many benefits. I let my kids crawl and run almost wherever with bare feet (not if the ground is too hot or the floor is filthy like at a restaurant). It’s better for kids to learn to walk barefoot so they can learn and gain strength and balance from the various terrains. When my oldest was 1 we went to a U-pick orchard and we let her walk around there barefoot. Just watch out for thorns and such that can really hurt

My son has had bruised knees from crawling on cement and then he started bear crawling instead 🤣. I just always remind myself that babies are more resilient than we give them credit for! Just gotta let them go! 💜
