I just have to share this story because I’m still like wtf about it lol.
My best friend just got married and I’m so happy she found her happily ever after. I was maid of honour alongside one of her sisters so we were both in charge of planning the bachelorette party. There was a miscommunication between us though we both thought we handed the job off to the other. She’s more of a party girl so I thought she’d have more ideas and if she’d told me she didn’t have any I would’ve been able to set everything up on my own no problem. Fast forward night before the wedding still no bachelorette party so we all agree we’ll just go to the club and wing it but my best friend and one of her sisters didn’t end up having a babysitter. Again if I’d known I could’ve set something up. They spent 3 hours trying to convince my best friend’s brother to watch both the kids but for some reason he refused to watch her son. I guess at some point they just gave up and without talking to her decided to just leave to go to the club anyway while I was in the kitchen with her trying to calm her down because obviously she’s crying it’s not going the way she wanted. Fast forward again to wedding day I’ve been helping my friend set up for 3 hours at that point they show up to the venue still in the clothes they left for the club in bragging about not showering and demanding my friend pay for the cab they took there luckily my friend left to go shower quick while we finished setting up.
Finally ceremony starts and the girls realize none of us have the ring and two of us have to leave to go look for it and the brother had it the whole time.
Needless to say the poor girl didn’t have her dream wedding like she deserved. I feel like such a bad friend and keep blaming myself for ruining her wedding even though I was the only one who stayed with her.
Side note: the moms in the group were all teen moms myself included and I was apparently the only one in the bridal party not planning on coming home wasted.

That’s such a shame. Why wasn’t it spoken about the night before the wedding? Who would want to turn up to their wedding either half cut or hungover. Kinda sucky of both you and the other girl considering that’s the main deal with being maid of honour. Maybe plan something nice with everyone without her knowing and surprise her?
I tried getting the girls to do something like that but they just straight up started ignoring me because I guess my mom said something to them at the wedding without telling me and naturally that made them uncomfortable. The wedding gift I got her was a necklace with a picture of her late son in it though and she hasn’t taken it off since which is fair. She also has been refusing to go out pretty much since the wedding so it might be too soon still

Maybe just do something you and her then, make sure you’re both free and go for some drinks/food?

So sad. This poor bride deserved much better than this. Sorry, just being honest.
I offered to babysit for free whenever just to make up for the lack of planning. I had to replace my dress 3 times because nobody could agree on one and the bride was starting to get anxious about the dresses
