Found out baby is breech at 38+4

Why c section? Only dangerous position for baby is transverse. Vaginal breech birth is completely fine, happens daily, friend of mine birthed her first born this way as well. As long as you have knowledge, tools and supportive team all will be well.
I recommend you to check midwife Beth she has got an IG channel called Thebumptobabychapter and loads of resources there (including info on c section if you wish :) )
I have done her antenatal and baby online course which you can still get (it's only £39 and yours forever)

I also had C-section for a breech baby, it was a really enjoyable experience.

I had an elective c section for my first baby on the 10th July. It was such a positive experience, so calm and relaxed. I really wanted to have a VB but was advised this was safest delivery and I’d do it all over again! Recovery has been better than I thought!

VBAC stands for Vaginal Birth After Caesarian, which wouldn't apply to first birth?

I had a planned c section for a breech baby my first time round and it was a really positive experience, despite not being planned 😊 opting for a repeat c section this time.

Found out my baby was breech at 36 weeks from a growth scan and tried two ECVs to move him to no luck. I was also super disappointed and nervous for a c section but in the end opted for an elective c section. Was very nervous going into the operating theatre but all staff were so lovely and reassuring and before I knew it my baby was there and just held him for the rest of the time in the theatre. Ended up being really calm experience. My partner was there the whole time. I'm 11 days after the birth now and after quite painful 3 days or so, recovery has been pretty straightforward. Pain is not too bad and most importantly baby was delivered safely - I was scared of having a difficult breech vaginal birth followed by an emergency c section. Any questions please ask x

the first few days were uncomfortable but staying on top of pain relief made it a lot easier, I’m now day 11 and little discomfort with regular paracetamol!

I’m 6 days post section. I had to stay in hospital longer than expected. It has been challenging but the pain itself from the wound site isn’t too bad. Agree with others to stay on top of pain management. The midwife who visited me on day 3 gave me an optimal schedule for taking pain meds so I’d ask them for one. I actually stopped the codeine on day 4 because constipation pain is worse than wound pain. I would really recommend taking a daily laxative immediately post birth even if you aren’t sure if you’ll be constipated. It felt pointless to be on pain meds if the pressure in my bowels was negating any benefit. It was so uncomfortable. Also you really don’t need much in hospital. I packed a bunch of stuff and barely used any of it. I was in the hospital gown until the day I left. Baby needed a lot of changing though so I recommend a bunch of vests, nappies, wipes and a portable changing mat for accidents in the bedside crib.

they only prescribed me a laxative once I left hospital, I really wish they had given me one from the beginning, I was so uncomfortable.

I also got referred pain in my shoulder from trapped gas which was more painful than any of it, the solution was peppermint water

they gave me lactulose to take home but you can just get it in the pharmacy without prescription so I wish I’d had it with me too!
