Hi I’m 26 weeks. I have been feeling baby move loads recently and can even see the kicks. The last two days he has slowed down, I’m convincing myself it’s because he’s behind my placenta. Is anyone or has anyone else experienced this?
I don’t want to go into MAC every day when it can be explained?
Thank you xx

Hiya! Also anterior placenta mum. At 26 weeks your baby is still small enough to move position so it could be nothing but still call triage if it's less than what you're used to. They'll do a quick check over to put your mind at ease and they'll never make you feel bad for going in to get checked. It's probably fine but best to get checked 😊 I've been in a couple times as well xx

Hi, I’m 28 weeks today and past couple of days baby has been quieter too. I’ve felt him move but it’s more of a wriggling sensation or him pushing against my belly not necessarily kicks so I’m just hoping he’s moved position or possibly just turned round. I’m going to keep an eye but they say whenever you’re worried ring anyway and they can at least advise you. I have an anterior placenta too xx

I have an anterior placenta and over the last couple of days I noticed a change in the intensity of movements but just as I was getting worried the strong kicking was back in! I think they slow down when they change positions (I'm 28 weeks).
But if you are worried, please call triage unit xx
Since this post I’ve had some chocolate and he’s kicked 3 times. He worries me so much and I’m sure he knows it 😂 thank you for all the advice girls xxx

If you ever feel reduced movements, take a break sit down, and count your babies movements for the next hour. If they reach 10 before the hour you're done. If you get to the end of that hour and not at 10, drink cold drink have something to eat and repeat. If you don't get the 10 kicks/movements in the hour then call assessment. Don't count hiccups. Anterior placenta makes it harder to feel, I sometimes find having something on my belly lightly applying pressure helps like my hand.

Honestly just get checked; I’ve been twice. I have an anterior placenta and he normally wriggles a lot and then I just didn’t feel him for 12 hours at all and I called and they checked. They said they would rather see me daily and him be fine, than me not go because I’m telling myself it’s just the placenta in the way and it turns out to be a bigger problem.

I'm also 26 weeks w/a anterior placenta and had this problem a few days ago. Thankfully, I had a midwife appt the next day so was able to ask them there. They didn't sound too stressed about my perceived lack of movement for the stage I'm at and the baby had a strong heart beat. Not only that, when the midwife listened for the heart beat she could actually hear baby move even though I couldn't feel a thing! (So bizarre). That made me feel a little better. Also, the day after I could feel baby move so vividly higher up in my stomach ( I have a low lying placenta) which makes total sense as I hardly feel baby when down low. I'm not saying not to get it checked but try the eating sweets / iced water etc. first to save yourself lots of waiting around 💕 hopefully our babies will be bigger soon and we'll have less worry!
