I’m not sure what to do or if I need to be concerned at all but me and my family have a 7 week old baby and he’s amazing however we’ve been through a lot since he was born the most recent incident of getting our car stolen from right outside our house I have been told I had postpartum anxiety before this happened and start therapy in a few weeks anyways my point is all of this has really effected my sleep. Baba still wakes up every 3 hours in the night for a feed but I’m finding it hard to sleep waking up constantly worrying or from nightmares so I’m absolutely exhausted.
The last couple nights after night feeds when I wake up I wake up in a panic that I don’t know where my baby is but he’s safely asleep in his crib except I have absolutely no memory of putting him back in bed. I’m absolutely terrified incase I accidentally fall asleep while feeding or something why can’t I remember putting him back down and how do I make myself more alert I just don’t want to accidentally hurt my baby

Sorry you’ve been through so much. I found going into a different room for night feeds helped keep me awake better. So now go into the lounge xx

I second this - every time I wake I am cradling my boobs or my bedding thinking I fell asleep with her in my arms, only for me to see she’s in her crib when I eventually come round. It’s terrifying. But yeah because of this I also make sure I do night feeds in a different room so no risk. It is getting easier and I’m panicking less as the nights go by. Have you got a partner or family to help you by taking baby in the day for a couple of hours so you can sleep? You need to look after yourself xx
yeah I think I will set up a chair in the spare room and try this and unfortunately they all work full time so I’m tryna sleep if he ever falls asleep for longer than 10 mins without contact napping today 🤦🏼♀️😂
