That’s a sign of autism. (From an autistic person who’s also a mum to a feb 2023 baby) my daughter doesn’t do that and she’s 18 months next month. And she has a 75% chance of having autism via me and dad being born with it. but! i did flap my arms around 18 months so it is common for a child with autism to start doing it

Incognito, don’t worry, on its own it’s not a sign of autism at all, lots of babies do it. If they socially smile, respond to their name, keep eye contact, point and look at objects, play pretend games (peekaboo etc) they are most likely fine.

My son flaps them when he doesn’t want to do something. Like when I hand him finger food or a spoon and he doesn’t want it. If I try to kiss him and he doesn’t want a kiss he also does it 😂 I’m not worried at all though because he’s fine in all areas of development and he’s a bright little boy. They do funny stuff at this age..just remember to go with your gut and try educate yourself as much as possible (from official sources, not forums and random articles on google). X
