So I've just got back from the hospital after going in to get checked out to see if I was in labour as since 00:45am I've been having really painful period pains which paracetamol has not helped or made better. After tracking these pains on a contraction app I was having 3/4 contractions lasting over 1 minute long each in a 10 minute period. I also keep feeling the need to go to the toilet but when I sit on the toilet nothing comes out.
They did a CTG that showed contractions but when they did an exam they found my outer cervix are only slightly open (enough for a finger tip to get through) and my inner cervix are closed. So I've been sent home.
I've not slept all night and I'm still having painful contractions. We had to get a taxi there and back that cost us £60 for both trips in total and it took us an hour to get to the hospital from the time I phoned the ward.
I'm not really sure what's the point of this post. I'm 41+1wks and just wondering if anyone else experienced these types of pains before going into labour and if so, how long it took to go into active labour?
I'm scared to go to sleep but I'm exhausted. I'm scared to stay at home and not get to the hospital to get the antibiotics I need during labour in time. But feel like I'm stuck on what to do 😔

I had this with my first and they said I’m not dilated at all and not in labour. When they checked me again four hours later I was 6 cm … she was born three hours after that 🤞🤞 hope you get some rest.

I could have written this myself - also was on CTG last night at hospital and was having regular contractions but inner cervix closed. Difference is mine were more uncomfortable than painful but had that urge to go to the loo you mentioned too. Unsure what it means though was told could be start of labour but could be anything from hours to days before becomes active labour - didn’t sleep well as the uncertainty is hard. Hope things start happening for you soon xx
what were your signs of labour? If you don't me asking. She was adamant I wasn't in labour because I wouldn't "talk through the pain" if I was...
