Finger food ideas

Keep going with it, it takes longer with food that are self fed. We are doing just BLW and for the first 4/5 weeks he would do what your lo is doing and didn’t start eating properly till just over 7 months xx

That’s such a normal starting point! They explore texture and gravity etc before they attempt to eat. Keep offering x

I'd say keep offering, it's a work in progress and it sounds like he's enjoying the extra cognitive stimulation if nothing else xD Maybe try one of those dummy-shaped "fruit feeders" if you want to encourage him putting the foods into his mouth? Something like - https://amzn.eu/d/01vgoxuU Also, if he likes melty things like the Ella puffs, how is he with cold temperatures? One of the things I do with my son is make frozen yogurt drops by spreading little circles of Petit Filous yogurt onto baking parchment and freezing them. He picks them up and they melt in the mouth (or on his hands) and he eats it like a kiddy froyo. Messy but fun 🤪

Also if you're doing toast strips, eat them with him/in front of him. Exaggerated chewing and "mmm"-ing, so he can mirror you. Sometimes babies seem to like it more when they feel like they're stealing your food! 👶

Same here. Has to pass the grab test for my baby to try putting it in her mouth! If it’s wet or squishy it does not pass the test and ends up on the floor with her looking disgusted haha
