Anyone else really struggling with bed time at the minute?

Naps are becoming a little trickier too, but bed time used to be a doddle - nappy change, pj’s, bottle and asleep all within about 20 minutes. Now it’s honestly taking upwards of an hour of rocking after his bottle and I just don’t understand 😭 he’s rubbing his eyes and is definitely tired when we come up to bed, but then it’s just fight fight fight for an hour. I’m wondering is it a sleep regression? It’s nothing like the others we’ve had though… he’s pretty much sleeping through. I’ve tried pushing bed time back by 15/30 minutes but it doesn’t seem to make a difference. Any tips/insight would be helpful! Or just some solidarity maybe 🤣

Are they by any chance transitioning from 2 naps to 1? This has sent our bedtimes haywire!

My little girl is the exact same! Used to pretty much fall asleep with her bottle but now taking near to 2 hours after her bottle to go sleep in her cot and I’m having to sit and pat her bum😩 once she’s asleep she’s down for the night luckily! I’ve tried pushing bedtime back but doesn’t make a difference. I’m starting to think it could be some kind of sleep regression but hoping she goes back to self settling very soon haha X

My little girl is the same, it’s taking about 2 hours just to get her down for the night but she doesn’t even sleep the whole way through, she’s waking up literally every 2 hours 😩😩😩😴😴😴

I have been wondering this, but I’m just not sure he’s ready 😫 I know every baby is different, but everything I google says it’s too early at this age… have you successfully transitioned? X

oh god you poor thing 😭 hopefully it doesn’t last too long for you!

I didn't think ours was ready but he's decided he's doing it anyway! I also thought it was too early but he was showing the signs of being ready so I'm following his lead. We're not there yet, some days he's on 1, others 2, but the days he has 1 tends to result in better night sleep! I'll share a post I found useful about whether they're ready or not x

I found this helpful. As you say all babies are different! I was panicking thinking ours was too young but he's showing all the signs and then I remembered he's never followed the rule book with sleep or done things at the "correct" age x

When do things get easier?

As we entered the 9-12 month stage, my son started crawling and pulling himself up. He also became more clingy and does not play alone, still doesnt sleep through the night, and this week has been sick (so EVERYTHING amplified). I am tired and overwhelmed. Please lie and tell me things get better. 🥺

Colostrum storing?

Has anyone successfully extracted colostrum before the baby’s born? Apparently it gets produced from 16w pregnant and you can start storing it in the freezer but I’m 34w looking at my nipples and the syringes on amazon wondering how it works?? Like what did you use and did it hurt? 🥲

Self settling

Any tips or advice of how to teach 6.5month old to self settle? I’m up multiple times in the night to cuddle her back to sleep and put the dummy in. I understand she will wake up and want a cuddle etc but any tips on self settling would be appreciated 🥰

Baby losing weight

Hi all, it's been a long time since I had a baby (my son is 15!). My daughter is 10 days old and was 9lb born, she has since lost weight at every appointment and is at a 12% loss. I am breast feeding every two hours for over an hour and topping her up every feed. I pump and can get 60ml in 10 minutes so I know my supply is okay. Anyone had this before? Can give me some tips? I currently feel like I'm letting my baby down.

Breastfeeding

Does it ever feel better? The actual feeding part of it is going really well and baby boy is growing so well. I’m struggling with how my boobs feel day to day - it’s really getting me down most days. The let downs make me feel awful and sounds silly but, I am also really missing not wearing a bra! 9 weeks postpartum and still getting fairly engorged, even with comfort pumping.

Any advice or just shared stories would help. I’m so torn between carrying on because I enjoy the feeding side of it or switching to formula.
